Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I love berries of all kinds and dislike melons, so I can't advise you on tasty fruit, Hil, but you mentioned liking kiwi. The kiwi grower near me actually recommends buying a large amount of kiwi at once and storing it in the fridge where it won't really ripen, just keeping out the amount you plan to eat over the course of a few days. So if you find a source, don't be afraid to stock up. Or if you order online, I suppose [link]

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Most of the farmer's markets around here cut some fruit fro you to try.

But when you next go to the farmers market - tell them you are single and can only buy a limited amount of fruit -- ask them what to buy. It might take talking to a few , but eventually you will find a farmer or two that will steer you the right way.

And if fruit is going bad make fruit salad -- and keep it in the fridge. Maybe not the best way for fruit , but less mushy

Most veggies keep longer-- they don't go mushy as fast and they don't lose as much flavor in the fridge,

who's jealous

I think I am.

Apparently we as a group have failed to provide appropriate encouraging gestures to those among us who have had hysterectomies: [link]

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

CANTELOPE!! God, I love it. Some hate it. It has substance to it.

My brother once penned an ode to a canteloupe, to be sung to the tune of O Tannenbaum:

O canteloupe O canteloupe
Why do you taste of grapefruit?
O canteloupe O canteloupe
You've ruined my best dinner suit
O lovely ti-i-i-iny canteloupe
You're smaller than... an antelope
O canteloupe O canteloupe
Why do you taste of grapefruit?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But...it doesn't taste of grapefruit.

Is this what Australian whimsy looks like?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Damn, an avocado is trying to kill me. I mean, I took my Benedryl but yeesh, I am not keen on the itchy throat that I am *still* feeling. Dude, you are a fruit that looks like a testicle, why do you want to kill me?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hil, you can trick peaches by putting them in a small, paper bag to ripen quicker. I buy several and put one or two at a time in a bag, that way, I have one ready to eat each day. You could always experiment with different breeds of apples.

I envy you the bricks, not so much the workout.

Also, I do not envy Cass her itchy throat feeling.
