Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

Paulina Porizkova was apparently fired from Top Model!! [link] I guess we'll be back to Twiggy-style lameness next "cycle."

Since I've only seen this past season, and part of the one in the Netherlands (or "Holland" as Tyra kept calling it), I have no point of comparison, but if she was actually fired for her ego, that's pretty funny. Next to Tyra, that is.

The Biggest Loser winner is TOO SKINNY! And that kid, now that he's lost weight, looks like a tall Michael Cera. Adorable!

Seriously.

Tara looked so healthy and 'right' at her weight.

It's too bad the parameters for winning aren't geared more towards health, rather than just the number. I can see Helen starving herself for the last couple of weeks just for the win.

Years ago, I competed in a gym competition and would have won except that I didn't eat or drink for the last day or two, which threw off my lean muscle mass. My trainer was furious...and I was an idiot.

Jerry, although obviously in much better shape than when he started, did look kind of freakily scarecrow-ish.

I was surprised at how good Ron looked. He's really done himself a favor. I would like to say to that family that brother Max needs a therapist way more than he needs the gym right now. I can't see him doing anything but failing until he gets his head straight.

Sione, on the other hand, YUM.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I liked Twiggy. Paulina just seems argumentative to me.

As for Idol, which I watch mostly for my BFF's benefit, I have to agree with this:

God, I hated the way Adam sang that song. Hated the interpretation. But he sure can sing.

I was struck by how he sticks his tongue all the way out and sings around it when he gets into the high register. He's not singing the words, he's just making the sounds.

Plus, and my friend fell over when I said this, Adam needs to adjust his diet. He's got a wicked white coating on that tongue and that's just not healthy.

I sort of wish he hadn't given me the opportunity to make that diagnosis, but there you have it.

It's interesting to me how different bodies react to losing so much weight so fast. Some look yummy...Sione and Tara...others look odd. Helen's NOSE stuck out of her head in a most Ikabod way and even Dane (who I loved) looks a bit out of proportion.

I felt so bad for David having to come back after clearly not making much of a change in his life. But once you've signed that contract, you can't opt out, eh? Daniel, seems well on his way and has such a great attitude. Bless him.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, my friend totally sold me out on the TAR finale cast party! I forgot about it, until I just saw all the pictures on Facebook.

Do you think a savvy competitor on American Idol might actually want to come in 2nd or 3rd - get a big fan base, lots of name recognition, but avoid the actual recording contract that might be kind of restrictive? Or are lower-finishers bound by a contract option as well?

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

every single top 24 contestant is potentially bound by the same 19E contract. they get first dibs on everyone. so this whole "not winning means they'll be less restricted" business is bunk.

Christ, McKey is so bad -- both in the ads AND on the runway.
