"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I'm still unclear -- are we going to change this when shows end or new ones start?

Well, admittedly, the timing is not exactly right in that things are sort of wrapping up and summer stuff hasn't started. My instinct would be to change it to reflect our summer watching so we don't have to change it again until fall.

At least with this thread, which is pretty much anything unscripted, I'm just not sure it's that confusing to get what we talk about in here.

Well, true, but in the voting convo, there was at least one person who didn't know we talked about TAR here. I think the thread purpose is clear, but it might not be obvious that buffistas would be into certain shows, like SYTYCD, for example.

That's what I thought the header was supposed to be. If there was some question about where a show should be included (i.e. Cupid), it would be indicated in the header.

The slug is what shows up with the thread title in Buffistas Home and the Film and TV folder, so the show lists should go there so people can see them when they are scanning thread titles.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Speaking as a stompy, but only for myself, I have no problem with changing the slugs as often as the thread denizens wish. So we can be completely current if you'd like. I agree with giving one from each category or so, of what's airing.

Definitely include TAR since that came up and we talk a lot about it, plus for some reason the travel shows don't always ping as reality for people. We could leave out Mythbusters I think, because the title implies it. Is Dirty Jobs airing now?

The next Top Chef is the summer Top Chef: Masters.

And furthermore, we have more room in the in-thread description than we do in the slug, so we could put a more comprehensive list there if we wanted.

Dirty Jobs is one of those that is in constant replay. I usually only ever catch the new episodes when I finally notice that my TiVo has been recording them.

I really thought the vote was going to go the other way. Damnit.

How funny is it that everyone- EVERYONE!- loooooves JT. Next week- drinking game. Drink if someone professes his or her love for JT or if Coach says something quasi-mystical.

Man, I really thought with Stephen's Wizard comment during his vote it was gonna be Coach going home.

Jeff blogs about Coach:

I've hosted Survivor for 18 seasons, and up until now there has only been one person I thought might be worthy of their own show and that was Boston Rob. That is, up until now.

I am seriously considering a show called The Dragon Slayer. It's about a guy who lives in a world that exists solely in his own mind, and thus is invisible to the outside world. While it is the year 2009, the Dragon Slayer dresses like he's just returned from one of those Renaissance fairs where he's just finished eating a turkey leg the size of a small dog. We'll simply follow his daily life, where every time he leaves his home offers the potential for a life changing, near-death, journey. Every episode concludes with his signature line:

Coach: "Hence my name, the dragon slayer."

LOVE.

Seriously, read the whole thing, but swallow your coffee first.

Art Crawl!!!

Hey, have you guys discovered River Monsters on Animal Planet?

I watched an episode and it was amusing and informative. Giant catfish, giant turtles and then the guy goes fishing for them.
