Well, I meant if it was her meal, her thing to win, but yeah. In the past, others have given advice when asked, like Stephen coming up with the dessert ideas when Tiffani didn't have any, and that's cool (although Tiffani taking credit for them was so NOT). But here Casey did overstep, and Carla shouldn't have listened.
I will say that the meat and potatoes dish was sort of odd from the get-go, though -- it really did seem not like Carla's kind of thing, as Toby said.
I think the souffle was in Carla's range, but she screwed that one up herself. I suspect if that had come out as intended, she might have won it. I'm pissed that Casey didn't just leave her to do her thing, but we also got an edited version of how those decisions came down.

I knew it was over when that whole conversation went down. Though I held out hope it was a retread of last week's oyster shucking "crisis" and it would all work out awesome in the end!

Huh. Toby says in his blog that it was Colicchio arguing for Hosea to win.
Tom countered that Hosea’s margin of victory in the third course was so much greater than Stefan’s margin of victory in the second that there was no need to bring in past performances — Hosea was the clear winner.
I'm very disappointed in Carla. To be swayed into a new technique in the finale WITH THE PROTEIN? Even a well seared filet would have been fine.
You know, they advise home cooks not to decide that a dinner party is the time to try out a brand-new recipe ... and someone on a cooking competition did it? (I don't watch TC, but just commenting on ... um, general dumbness.)
