Oh, I meant to say I kind of wish Andy had been more specific when he was saying he doesn't consider himself an American sportswear designer. It wasn't the sportswear part he was disputing, MichaelKors!
No kidding! He was clearly trying to put a spin on it by not making it so whitebread. I think if the look had had cleaner lines and fewer crotch issues... okay, they still wouldn't have liked it, but it would have gotten closer.

Except Jacqueline Kennedy is whitebread. White French bread anyway. If it had been more clam digger and less harem pant, it could have worked.
Oh, sure, I'm not saying it was right for Jackie, but it was clearly an Asian-inspired silhouette, and he was not trying to puff himself up when he said he wasn't an "American sportswear" designer.
I really loved Andy's look, challenge-appropriate or not. I can see why the judges didn't go for it, but I thought those pants were awesome. Fix the crotch/ass fit and I would wear them in a second.
Have y'all seen the promo for this week's PR? What is up with the *drama*? They are really amping it up this season, no?
I'm kind of amazed by the sheer level of assholery on display in Just Desserts. Pastry chefs are the surgeons of the cooking world, aren't they?

I said to my daughter at the end of the episode that if I wanted this much drama I'd watch ANTM or PR, Top Chef is supposed to be cooking first, drama second. I don't know if I will stick with it or not.

They certainly seemed to be. It was a little startling.
and there seemed to be no need. It's like the old adage of faculty in colleges and universities:
"they argue so fiercely about [this issue] because the stakes are so low"
