I really loved Andy's look, challenge-appropriate or not. I can see why the judges didn't go for it, but I thought those pants were awesome. Fix the crotch/ass fit and I would wear them in a second.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Have y'all seen the promo for this week's PR? What is up with the *drama*? They are really amping it up this season, no?
I'm kind of amazed by the sheer level of assholery on display in Just Desserts. Pastry chefs are the surgeons of the cooking world, aren't they?

I said to my daughter at the end of the episode that if I wanted this much drama I'd watch ANTM or PR, Top Chef is supposed to be cooking first, drama second. I don't know if I will stick with it or not.

They certainly seemed to be. It was a little startling.
and there seemed to be no need. It's like the old adage of faculty in colleges and universities:
"they argue so fiercely about [this issue] because the stakes are so low"
Interesting.
Can you believe that Tiffani Faisson (sp?) is still under contract ?
Or does this mean that her career needs another boost ?
Oh, I forgot to say this earlier re: the top chef finale. As I recall, the first course was supposed to be vegetarian, so why the fuck did Angelo use pork belly and Ed used cockles? And why was that okay?
I think it was supposed to be "a vegetable course" not necessarily a vegetarian one. Angelo did get dinged for not making vegetables the focus, IIRC.
