Adam said something was "balls-out awesome," which still got the "you didn't just say that!" reaction.

Ah, it was bleeped out here, I inferred wrong.

OK, that almost makes sense, now.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Even America picking the right winner for this season in Lauren (formerly TBC) cannot make up for all the things that just were not right about the show this season. I will stand in the corner with le nubian and Vortex and hate all over the producers and choreographers for costing us not only Alex, but also Ashley and for getting Billy hurt (although he was already toast when it happened). And the fact that Nigel had enough balls to try to make a joke out of it, well, that just chaps my ass. It's not funny and if they don't get that it's not funny, then I fear for the future of the dancers on this show.

I also blame the show for ruining Shankdaddy for me. He was, once upon a time, one of the better judges on the panel when he guested. He brought real and relevant critiques of the quality of the dancing. He gave notes that the kids could take away with them to help them get better. He stated his opinion flat out, even when it was controversial or just plain wrongheaded (Danny is not arrogant! Bitch) And he was funny as all get out. This season on the panel he's turned into a platitude spouting, clapping seal just as useless as Mamma Mia by his side. "I love ya. Get outta here!" This is what passes for critique? Really? Hell, I'd rather have Mary and her hot tamale train because at least she'd bring eye searing fashions, QVC jewelry, more orange skin than John Boehner and a country fried weave.

I also blame the show for bringing us second tier choreographers all season long. When five of the repeat dances from the finale are NappyTab pieces, shit is not right. Tyce almost every frikkin' week? Even more egregious when you have Spencer Liff available. Mandy and her sweatin' to the oldies? Why so little Sonya? Almost no Mia? What, one or two from Dmitri? One from Dave Scott? I love Travis Wall as much as the next person, and he brought it this season, but why not some other former contestants? Evan and bald brother? Anyone from Qwest? Seriously. Anyone.

For the sheer number of talented dancers that they had in the top 10, there weren't many dances for the ages. Alex and Twitch's hip hop. Travis' "best friends" piece for Neil and Kent. Billy and Ade's Rich Man/Poor Man dance. Travis again with the Mom dance for Allison and Robert. I can't think of too many others that I truly, madly, deeply loved. That's a shame considering that you had fully half of the top 10 that could flat out dance their butts off (Alex, TBC, Billy, Kent,Ashley) plus another handful that were more than competent (AdeChike, Robert, Alexie) plus all of the all stars. They damn near killed the kids to come up with some routines that, on the whole, won't stand up to some of the best from season's past. The Twitch/TBC piece from last night was cute, but compared to really great hip hop from other seasons? It does not rate. The TBC/Pasha tango? Nowhere near Janette and Brandon. The Billy/Robert Bollywood? Hell, the Tween Terrors did it better last season and I didn't even like them. And did we even get one memorable group routine from this season? Whither Ramalama?

I don't know. I'm glad Lauren won. Since it couldn't be Alex and Billy never really translated well on the show, she was definitely the next best thing. I just feel like this season was a big old blah, more noteable for the drama (Injuries! All stars! National Dance Day!) than for the dancing.

"Oh no! Has falling sky liquid once again caused you the sadness?" -Starfire

You know, I'm still bitter that Alexie was the first to go. I would have liked to see how she progressed. The fact that she left first should have warned me to just walk away form this season.

I loved the UK winner. That routine was amazing!

I agree with kat's top picks, but would add the Mia "child-man-old man" routine with Billy, Alex, and Ade; the Adechike and Comfort Falling number; and I just really loved "Hot N Fun" even though it wasn't real deep or anything. Adechike had some wonderful solos, too. (Okay, I just like Adechike.)

We watched the finale as a family last night and Casper took Kent's loss to Lauren well (she quickly jumped over to "girl power" I think.) mr. flea just about DIED laughing at the Special Superstar. He loved the Alex-Twitch routine and we still watch it occasionally for no reason. That is one for the ages.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Well, finally caught up with this week's Reality TV.

Masterchef's first week of competition (chopping onions and cooking one egg) has started off looking very promising.

SYTYCD: Happy Lauren won. I feel she really had a good night, capping off a good season. Favorite dances of the season are basically NappyTabs: My Chick Bad, Scars (the clowns), Outta Your Mind, Fallin'. Maybe Mad World and Fix You, although that one was a bit too "cancer dance" for me.

Top Chef: What can I say? This season is boring in the extreme.

Project Runway: Still don't get Gretchen. And the edit is really not doing her any favors. Wasn't happy about the boot, but, based on the dress, I can't argue with it.

PR: I wish I could figure out how to FF through all the contestants talking about each other without missing the actual construction and decision-making. I really liked a lot of the designs this week - most of the "safe" designs were pretty great.

Really rooting for Valerie to win a challenge. It's a shame about the auf but that was definitely the losing dress.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'm finally catching up on PR and I call bullshit on the first episode winner. There were at least two other outfits that were more interesting. And I totally didn't agree with all of the rest being in the bottom. I liked Ivy's blouse - that was gorgeous.

Now I, personally, loved the blue dress, but wish she had edited the epaulettes. And dammit.

Art Crawl!!!

Mssterchef, huh? Maybe I can find it on Hulu.

I did watch two episodes of Gordon Ramsey's Great Adventure and that was alot of fun. Is the whole series in India? I don't know why, but I had thought prior to seeing it that there would be other places too. Now, I'm not so sure.

Watching the Jacque and Julia marathon on WTTWPrime: so much fun. Love they way that they don't always agree but they are still so civil.

PR: They really decided to show the badside of Gretchen this week. Let's see if the editing monkeys show this side

Art Crawl!!!

HGTV extends the production of The Antonia Treatment which is the show of one of the recent Design Stars. I did not see his season but I watched his show last night and found it enjoyable.

In completely unrelated news - BET is going to run documentary on NOLA five years after Katrina. (More info at the Futon Critic.
