She was clearly very vulnerable, but the Globetrotters comments didn't bother me. My thing is, if Mika were a man, another Globetrotter for example, this is how they would have behaved. This is a high stakes competitive situation. Oh well.
Mika wasn't going to do, I think the other team picked up on this and decided to make a comment about it.
I think if she'd been a man, their comments would have been less patronizing. The "Oh honey, I'll walk you down" shit really rubbed me the wrong way.
I think it was patronizing because the two weren't competing.
I know a lot of men in sports competitive situations. This is the kind of shit they say to each other. My SO's Madden online gaming league is a trip.
Another Top Chef spinoff:
Today, Bravo announced the series pickup of its newest culinary competition series entitled “Top Chef: Just Desserts,” a spin-off of the Emmy and James Beard Award-winning “Top Chef.” The series will consist of pastry chefs competing against one another in a series of challenges. Open calls for chefs interested in competing in the high-stakes culinary competition series will be held in cities across the country starting on October 26.
Do you think we can get Top Chef: CSI (using only materials found at a crime scene, each week contestants....) or Top Chef: Law & Order: Courtroom Cafeteria
Top Chef: SVU - Scallops are Bad.
I honestly would vote for them making a rule next season that no one can use scallops EVER.
Agreed - no scallops, no lamb.
The lamb I don't mind so much because I can never get any up here, unless I go to a butcher and pay out the nose.
I'd also like to ban anything that starts with "water," such as tomato water, because ... it just doesn't sound appealing to me in any way.
