Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It really makes everything better! And Jeff can get rid of Jessie this week! Or Natalie!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

or Russell or Chima!

I'm really not picky.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Huh. I realized tonight, despite having followed all the episodes, I completely spaced on watching the finale of the Next Food Network Star. Guess I really was invested?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I actually caught her show today and it was...not bad. I'd watch it again, and I can see making things or getting ideas from it.

Because books.

I did, too! She did really well, I thought, very comfortable and personable. And that potato tart (wait, did she call it a torte?) looked AWESOME.

Yeah, totally. And the way she did the bacon makes so much sense.

(Also I made a pie today - which was already planned - but I totally used her trick of freezing the butter.)

I missed the beginning, so I didn't see that or how she made the applesauce granita, which sounds really easy and yummy.

I feel like they could have given her a hook closer to what she wanted to do originally than "Ten Dollar Dinners," but hell, I don't mind hearing about cheap recipes, so.

She mixed 2 cups of unsweetened applesauce with a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and threw it in the freezer.

I have a feeling both her original concept (easy for busy moms) and the one Alton gave her (sort of a kitchen 411) can and will be wrapped into this one pretty easily.

It was definitely a more watchable show than the Sandra Lee budget cooking one that immediately preceded it. (I watched a lot of Food Network this morning.)

I think 50's-era highway safety films are more watchable than anything Sandra Lee has ever done.

Point.
