I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm afraid I mostly just recognize her name enough to know there is respect due.

I have balanced my checkbook or whatever you call it when there are no checks involved, and I have a good chance of not getting overdrawn before payday, hooray! And this is when my extra money from cashing in vacation time comes in, so I'm excited about that. I'm gonna pay so many bills, y'all! Or maybe just one bill but extra hard. But it's exciting!

Dear Extra-wide Pickup Driver,

You do NOT want to play chicken with someone driving a 20-year-old Chevy that's already been bought back from salvage after the insurance company totaled it. Stick to your own lane!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Okay, Tim's blood pressure made the decision on whether or not I'm going to the 40-year grade school reunion. His blood pressure is normally like 108/60-something, but today it's 80/50-something. This happened last weekend, and his oncologist said that because he doesn't have any other symptoms, he doesn't need to go to the ER, but should hydrate as much as possible, including electrolytes. But if he *does* develop any other symptoms (fever, abdominal pain), he should go to the ER right away. So I'm for damn sure not leaving him home by himself. Even if someone like our nephew could come hang out with him, I don't want to be a 45-minute drive away. So for now we hydrate. And I honestly don't mind missing the reunion. My inner trash goblin who craves drama will survive.

Yeah, that’s a stay home situation. Hope it doesn’t escalate

Last weekend it eventually resolved with aggressive hydration and a little light exercise. Hoping today will be the same.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, you would be too distracted to really enjoy any drama at the event. Will watching the news help raise Tim's BP? It works for me! I hope the hydration helps quickly.

I messaged the only person who I would trust to dish the dirt, and she's not going either. So I'll have to hope there are pictures posted on Facebook and I'll try to infer all sorts of drama from the pictures.

Oh man, SAME. Maybe we should try that, for science!

Inferred drama can be fun!

I just saw a tip on bluesky that lemon-flavored electrolytes in ginger tea is delicious, so passing that on in case it is useful.

Considering watching Superman on HBO in solidarity with you, Tep.

We have lemon-lime electrolytes and ginger-turmeric tea. I feel like that's too many flavors. But lemon and ginger are awesome.

Yesssssssss.

Tim has gotten me totally hooked on the Midnight Burger podcast (it's an audio drama about a time-traveling, dimension-hopping diner, and it's REALLY good), so we've been listening to that during dinner, like we're sitting around the radio listening to The Shadow Knows. It's totally worth listening to, for real. Anyway, Midnight Burger has to take a back seat to Superman tonight. (Or, you know, porque no los dos?)
