I'm 17. Looking at linoleum makes me want to have sex.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Welcome to the post-Equinox in which your daily ration of sunlight will be increased daily.

I have hard gel nails for the first time and I have to say, I think I'm a convert. They look fab and much more durable than regular polish.

I've started watching Rooster on HBO and am enjoying it so far. Hard to go wrong with Steve Carrell and the cast is excellent. I was watching one actor thinking, "Why does he look so familiar and why is his face so punchable?"

It was the actor who played Jamie Tartt on Ted Lasso.

Some other friends have recommended DTF St. Louis (also a comedy on HBO) so I'll check that out too. I need some new distractions.

Speaking of Steve Carrell, he was on Amy Poehler's podcast recently and it was such a warm happy vibe. Recommended if you need a mood lifter: [link]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Man, Jess, your professional entanglements with Heated Rivalry are breaking new ground!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Whining: I'm overwhelmed by covering the work of two writers who were let go (for reasons I don't agree with, but that's a whole other thing), I lost all day yesterday to a migraine, I still have a migraine hangover, and one of my acrylic nails lifted and then popped off. Everything is annoying and I hate it.

Boo, I hate all that for you, too, Atropa

I just had a call with one of our salespeople who is still here, and she pointed out that Sales was untouched in the January re-org because they had just gotten a new VP so I guess they are just catching up now with the workforce reduction. I am extremely tired of always being in transition, though, I tell you what.

Hahaha this was also in my head before I read what you wrote

Jess, I would 100% have the same mind blip as you (she says, as she ducks off work reading AO3)

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Well, phui!

Last week I ordered my regular monthly refill of the pills I take daily to keep my cancer suppressed.

Yesterday I got the "Your package was delivered to your mailbox" email notification. It wasn't there.

Today I was able to be at the mailboxes when the carrier was delivering today's mail. I asked if we could check whether my package was in one of my neighbor's mailboxes, delivered there by mistake. It wasn't there.

No neighbor has come by saying, "Hey, I've got your package."

I went to the USPS web site to report missing mail, but the form has this disclaimer: "...the Mail Recovery Center cannot search for or return the following items:...Prescription Drugs...."

So now I have to figure out how to get an expedited replacement order. I have sent an email to the specialty pharmacy. They don't do customer support by phone. They don't ship other than USPS.

::grump::

I have no idea if they will charge me again. If they do, I will be even more unhappy, but I can take the hit -- the cost is about the same as half a week's groceries.

It's not a disaster. I'm not entirely out of pills, and if I miss a day or two I won't keel over. But still, this is additional stress I do not need.

Our wings are not tired.

I went and got about 6" or so of my hair chopped off yesterday. I told him just shoulder length, a bit longer in front, because I need to twist it up to swim or go outside in the wind. I loved the feel of it long on my back, but it was time to go. DH took a couple quick pics to send to my sisters, but I'll try and get a better one today.

Sent my birthday wishes to Allyson via the FB since I don't see her around these parts.

What a mess, dcp! I really hope you get it resolved quickly.
