I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hee, tai chi spoilers, I like that. Trying to do the form in the park always felt like that - I was learning a long form and I don't think I ever got all of it.

I meant to say earlier, what a drag to get your day so disrupted, Maria!

Aw, Ryan I like 'em, too.

Librarian Warlord

I went camping with the girl scouts over the weekend, and one of the other parents is miffed at me because I made one of the girls cry. After supervising the cleaning out of our cabin, another girl started running in to "dance" I asked her not to, then told her not to, since the cabin was already swept and everyone's shoes were muddy. I told her she'd lose one of the bracelets the troop leader had given us to hand out to helpful girls, and take away for girls not listening. She went in, tracked in dirt, and I told her she owed me a bracelet and then she cried for over an hour. One of the parents (not of the girl from whom I'd claimed a bracelet) pulled me aside to say, "with some children, you just can't tell them they did anything wrong because they are too sensitive." I just pointed out that I used the discipline we'd all agreed to at the beginning of the trip, girls included, and walked away.

So, long story short, we aren't going to be buddies that mother and I.

Also, K's troop leader is also president of the PTA, troop leader for her older daughter's troop, class mother, and has a baby at home. I'm impressed and scared of her.

Hey, Google's logo today is to celebrate Hedy Lamar! It's one of their fancy animated ones.

(And this time, not Hedley)

Eh, I think we as a society should be more accepting of crying. That parent needs to mind her own business.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Boo on blown tires and special snowflake parents.

Yes some kids are sensitive, but do we really want anyone thinking they can do whatever they want and not be able to handle being told they are wrong? Jesusita.

So the child, sigh. The fight 2 weeks ago has now resulted in a schuedule change. Mac's third change this year. I need to now meet with his new English teacher.

A change as in different classes? That sounds difficult to keep up with.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Sparky, that mother had no reason to go all mama bear on you. I admire your restraint in just walking away.

Boo, child. Please stop making your mother's head spin.
