"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That makes sense, right? He totally cares whether the sink is scrubbed out.

Absolutely makes sense. If you didn't, he would have been making tiny judging noises the whole time he was there.

Okay, I am still not very productive, but I am making good progress today, compared to that last several days. I did, however, waste about an hour digging through cables trying to hook up my XM for the free two week trial they're doing right now (if you have an old one lying around, turn it on, it's working right now). Only the old one I had lying around is totally broken. Oh well. Now I know.

Plus it counts as office declutter which was on my schedule today because in order to do it, I had to move a bunch of stuff around which I then put away properly.

I'm sorry, brenda.

Just had a 30 minute tax panic in which I thought I threw out my various mortgage and interest tax forms in today's recycling. Luckily, found them.

not your mom's socks.

oi, Brenda. That well and truly sucks.

Liese, I like the casita (late to the party).

Hey speaking of that area, I'm going to a workshop in Taos in June - anyone want to school me on how best to get there from Philly, adjust to altitude and generally not bonk like I tend to do when I get off a plane?

It's going to be a lot drier than you're used to, Sox, so prepare to chug water.

Absolutely. Noted.

but no maples and oak trees and I'll be able to breathe, whee! Well, except for the altitude, but I suspect it will be a pretty even swap.

Diana Nyad just fascinates me. She's talking about how even when she has the flu she can't help but work out. I get that.

Also, I find it a funny coincidence with her name and naiads, which of course are the greek water nymphs.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Helmburg claims - in a statement it would be difficult to deny - that "firing bottle rockets out of one's own anus constitutes an 'ultra-hazardous' activity," which exposes both defendants to strict liability.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

dog is crated and not whining in the mudroom. WIN!

I do not have any of my W-2s to do taxes. NEITHER OF THE 2 COMPANIES I worked for are on time. I hates them. I wants my money back. (pretty sure I will get money back).

It is a 2.5 hour drive from ABQ, and maybe an hour from Santa Fe. Taos has an airport, but I have no idea what those fares are like. It's a beautiful drive, no matter. Also, June is NM's bloody hottest month, but it will be cooler at that elevation. And expect massive temp drops at night, so bring layers. The lack of humidity will make 100 there feel cooler, but you'll also misjudge that easily and dehydrate fast, so really watch that. Oh, and sunscreen. Do not forget it. I can get a burn in 15 minutes at anything over 6000 ft. And I grew up at 4000.

And by all that's holy, go outside at night and look up.

That reminds me, I need to check whether the bank has forgotten to send a 1099 for my Christmas club account, or if the interest was so miniscule they're not required to report it.
