Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Art Crawl!!!

That's what I was going to say too - why not wait 'til she's out of heat?

Heat cycles in cats last from several days to two weeks or longer, and repeat every two to three weeks.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

From a bit further down on the Neuticles site:

New!TempoStay® Ear Supports For Canines

Imagine not having to bandage your puppies ears after cropping. Not having to worry about costly visits to the vet to change the dressing. Not having to worry about your pup ripping off the bandages or the discomfort and stress post operative bandaging creates for you and your beloved pet.

How about NOT FUCKING CROPPING YOUR DOG'S EARS IN THE FIRST PLACE, you barbarian fuck? Does nobody read Black Beauty anymore?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

When my folks got me Gimlet as an Xmas present, they had her fixed and declawed; I was horrified about the declawing, but they know nothing about cats and didn't understand. They thought they were doing me a favor. They would NEVER crop a dogs ears or tail, but they didn't know.

I didn't explain it to my mom, because it would have made her too sad.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Back in DC, one of my neighbors clipped their dogs' ears. I really hated seeing them walk him around the neighborhood with bandages on his ears. I thought less of them as people after that.

Thrive to spite them

So, it's important to put fake nuts in a pet because getting neutered is like "having a limb cut off" because it will hurt the pet's sense of self, but it's okay to cut off other bits for cosmetic reasons?

I really hope this only lasts a few days and not a few weeks.

Is it her first heat? I think you said yes. I'd guess 5-7 days.

Try some catnip. If it affects her, it'll either knock her out or make her super-horny. If it's the former, you can keep her stoned for a week. If the latter, well, go shopping for a few hours and don't rinse, lather and repeat.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am not in heat. But I am back in bed with cramps, woes. Calm down, ladybits, we are not having babies! You don't need to get all worked up like this!

The status is NOT quo.

Debet, everyone else has already said it better, but you aren't overreacting, and I'm so sorry. Hang in there.

In unrelated news, I was about to finally take a shower when Seamus crawled on my chest and started purring. He's been treated for a UTI and is wearing one of those calming pheromone collars and hasn't peed on the bed since we let him back in the bedroom yesterday. Win.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The last time I asked someone why her dog wasn't neutered I found out his junk was cosmetic to keep up his self esteem.

When I finally captured Gray Porch Cat and took him to the vet for the full workup, the vet told me that he's already been neutered - the sacs had no balls in them, just fatty tissue. I was astonished. But someone had once taken good care of that cat, and I wonder why he ended up stray. He's starting to show an interest in the whole "indoors" deal, and if I can get him back in The Box for his second round of shots, I'm probably going to bring him inside and see what happens.
