Trust my rage

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the well wishes. I am typing with a sleeping nursing baby on my lap. He has cute ears. Labor was fast. I called midwife at 11:20 when things started to hurt. She arrived at 11:52. He was born after 2-3 pushes at 12:03. Despite the fast labor, I feel very good. Mostly tired but the hungry part is nice. Ellie is totally loving Sammy. Frisco took a while but is warming up. There are pictures on FB and soon I'll put something on LJ. (iPhone corrected that to LJUBLJANA.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Holy cow, Stephanie, that is fast! I'm so glad it went well, and CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the world, baby Samuel!

Wow, Stephanie! Congratulations again!

There is too much pink in these houses. Send help!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Apparently Samuel decided he couldn't let Ellie upstage him. How fast was Frisco born?

Okay, so, the ball. StW picked me up and we drove out there. Please note that he bought his entire outfit yesterday, and with pretty much no coordination with me. I did tell him that I was wearing a 70's era floorlength dress, but that's it. You can't really tell in the picture, but his shirt is one of the tuxedo ruffled ones. LOVE. We got there right as the patron party ended and the ball began. Ball is overstating it a bit - more of a party, really. The theme was "It's Easy Being Green" and costumes included a fab dress made from grocery bags, the Green Giant and his pea sidekick, Paper or Plastic, etc. There were also people in Saints gear, and jeans, and one guy wearing a Sweetarts-branded shirt? IDEK. We got lots of compliments on our outfits.

It was pretty mellow at first, but more people arrived and the bands got better as the night went on. The last band was kind of 90s ska/punk and really high energy. The dance floor was full and the tables empty - I love this town. We ducked out just before it ended at midnight. So much fun! StW will dance, though he readily admits to not being a great dancer. That kind of thing used to bug me, but apparently not anymore.

In conclusion, the ball was AWESOME and StW continues to be AWESOME as well. Of course, now he has to work two weeks straight, so I probably won't see him for a while. Ah, well.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, Stephanie! I guess all those contractions beforehand were worth something....

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I was wondering if that was StW in the FB pix!! You guys look awesome!

Stephanie, that is awesome fast labor! Fantastic! Three of my girlfriends had miserable, 24+ labor; they would be so jealous.

Of course, one almost had her 2nd baby in the kitchen; barely made it to the hospital. BAM! Baby.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Good job, Sam! Quick and easy. May you be an example to all the pending Buffista babies.

but his shirt is one of the tuxedo ruffled ones.

Just like I wore to my prom.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My mother had 36 hours of labour with me, or so she'd like me to believe. Congrats on the swift addition to the family.

Smonster, you look great!

StW will dance, though he readily admits to not being a great dancer. That kind of thing used to bug me, but apparently not anymore.

What does that mean?
