Oh, wow. This place looks great. Oh, I feel like a witch in a magic shop.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Everyone I voted for won! And New York State can look forward to some lovely tablescapes and theme-tinis in the governor's mansion!

I feel like it's actually not that bad, myself. (Um, or that good, if you happen to be a Republican.)

Because books.

Snerk.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

All I'm hanging on to this morning is that it's not possible for me to feel as horrible as I did the day after the 2004 election.

And also, thank god that nitwit in Arizona lost.

t edit

not a single person I voted for won, unless I missed something.

Me, too. Although I haven't checked the judge or school board races.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

All I'm hanging on to this morning is that it's not possible for me to feel as horrible as I did the day after the 2004 election.

There is that.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And New York State can look forward to some lovely tablescapes and theme-tinis in the governor's mansion!

Better Sandra Lee than Carl Paladino! We were given a choice of crazy and went with the Kwanzaa cake. I can live with that.

(And did we all know that one of the third party candidates was the madame of the escort service that got Spitzer kicked out of office? Oh politics, don't ever change.)

Absolutely. It's not like Sandra Lee actually got elected -- she's just a fabulous gift-with-purchase.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

The House results were pretty brutal. The party in power were always going to get hammered in a midterm with the economy in the toilet though. (I think they underperformed against even this standard, but it doesn't make any reall difference to the situation.) On the bright side, it looks like the Dems not only held the Senate, but held enough seats not to have to worry about Nelson and Lieberman flipping.

I think it's probably good news for Obama too, at least as far as 2012 is concerned. The public still holds the Repubs in lower regard than the Dems. I doubt that'll change now they're back, with added Tea Party. Next go-round, they'll have to shoulder public scrutiny too.

Doesn't help get things done in the short term, though.

Really? Because I'm terrified that that scary ignorant nitwit Palin will run in 2012 and win.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The public still holds the Repubs in lower regard than the Dems.

Well the California results certainly speak to that, but country-wide, Dems seemed to take a pretty brutal beating.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

So Paladino didn't win in NY? Oh, thank goodness.
