Art Crawl!!!

The other thing that made me feel better was that this is the 3rd time in a row that the ruling party has lost the House in the midterm election following that of a same party President being elected. The trend having more to do with preferring divided party rule than being about any particular issue - no matter what is being said.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, once the Republicans learned they could win the House again, it's been more back and forth. But even the last long time with Dem majority was Reagan/Bush, wasn't it?

And yet they get peeved that nothing gets accomplished. I'm sort of stomach sick at the thought of the Tea Party gaining any prominence.

I hope that this year is all about obstructing Congress. I can't believe how even with a super majority Dems were useless.

I am thrilled that CA no longer needs a 2/3rd majority to pass a budget. About. Damn. Time.

(Apparently I woke up crabby this morning... I blame crappy sleep and dreams about Hoover Dam).

Wow, that is huge.

Illinois is very depressing. The governor is still too close to call though.

And, also, Carly Fiorino? She's 500,000 votes behind (~5 or so percent) with 93% reporting. And she won't concede.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm still inexpressibly disappointed with the American electorate this morning. They're getting the government they so richly deserve. Unfortunately, I'm getting the same.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh. Awake. Too tired, but too much work to not get up and get started.

I suck at getting my work done.

That is good. But don't we also now need a 2/3 majority to get a state fee through? Fucking voters are contradictory eejits.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have to put in a plug here for the My History Can Beat Up Your Politics podcast - he's done a few episodes on midterm elections, and he's really fantastic at putting current political trends in context.
