Camels terrorize Australian outback town
Yep, it's true. More like giant rabbits than giant cane toads. Our local ecosystems continue to be devastated by introduced species. However, be warned, rest of the world: in 'pay it forward' fashion, we have exported redback spiders to Japan and they're marching on Tokyo. [link]
I don't know, Terrence. This?
I didn't know how precious they were. I know better now.
Not really helping.
Terrence is still an ass. He should be apologising devoutly for needing to have daughters to respect women.
It's been a million years since I read Anne Rice. Did she have her vampires angstily romancing humans? Or was Angel the proper proto-Edward Cullen?
I don't feel like Rice vampires are all that into humans, though. But it's been so long, I could easily be wrong.
IIRC, most of the humans being mooned over by vamps were vamped pretty quickly in the Riceverse. The only exceptions I can think of were Daniel and the guy in Tale of the Body Thief (David something?), both of whom were also eventually vamped.
Louis was very mopey.
Yeah, but not because he was in love with some human chick and his vampire nature made their love FORBIDDEN and IMPOSSIBLE. That kind of angst didn't really exist in those books.
I have MOMAd and bought many things, mostly for me. My MOMA membership expires in Dec and I never used my bonus 20% off card, which you only get to use once in each store, so I bought things in all of the various store options. Some even Christmas gifts, which makes me feel good about spending the money. Then I took some nighttime NY pictures and got weepy, and now I am home in flannel pjs, fuzzy socks and slippers and I am going to have chips and guac for dinner and try to get my head wrapped around the fact that it is Friday, not Monday.
I'm watching Innocence right now. It was so much easier to like B/A knowing that a) he goes evil and b) he leaves town and c) she does the nasty with Spike and ends up liking
him.
I read the Wikipedia entry on the extended Twilight saga and I can't imagine Bella kicking Edward in the nuts. I know Joss not only pissed people off by saying he was there to give them what they want, not what they need but he also participated in Spikely fan-pandering, but I do respect what he did with most of a really peculiar relationship.
