"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

300 looked like a Frank Frazetta painting come to life, so I consider my three admission prices money well spent for the cinematrography alone.

But even the visuals couldn't save Suckerpunch, and I now know I don't need to think at all about seeing Man of Steel.

The latest trailer I saw featured flames burning Henry Cavill's clothes off. Sold.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Jess, is it an okay movie for a precocious 10-year-old?

Oh, definitely. There were some tweens at the screening I saw. The violence level is pretty high, but it's not gory or graphic, just punching and explosions.

Only caveat is it runs 140 minutes, so once you add in 20+ minutes of ads/trailers, you're asking a kid to sit still for nearly 3 hours, which might be tough for some. (However, there's no post-credits tease, so you can shave off ten minutes by leaving as soon as the movie ends.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Batman doesn't show up at the end and talk to him about the Justice League Initiative?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It should still be Nick Fury. EVERY movie deserves a Nick Fury post-credits scene.

I did really want to see Nick Fury walk on, look around, turn around and walk out again. But it didn't happen.

Ooh, interesting. The new game has been well received, so I hope they take inspiration from it.

I found even 300 to be eye-rolly silly. Also, I think if that movie was shown at normal speed, it would be twenty minutes long.

Watchmen bothered me because it seemed like Zack Snyder completely missed the point of the comic. Like, Moore spent the whole comic deconstructing the superhero mythology, and Snyder kind of nodded along going "Yep, yep, yep! Superheroes are pretty awesome, aren't they?" But Snyder did successfully copy most of the images from the book.

Suckerpunch is SO stupid and offensive, both times I have watched it (in my living room, not a theater), I spent the ENTIRE DURATION (I'm not kidding) of the movie, ranting about how stupid and offensive every single thing about the movie was.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

One thing I did like about Watchmen was the change they made to the ending. I always thought the giant space squid was a horrible choice.
