Jimmy Olsen jokes're pretty much gonna be lost on you, huh?

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Seska, I thought you were a dude...my apologies.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Maybe your brain feels it's in a safe place and can process all the stresses you've recently gone through.

This makes a lot of sense to me, as someone who also gets the now-that-I'm-safe-and-happy nightmares. I always think of it as (WARNING! FOLK PSYCHOLOGY AHEAD!) the mental version of the cold/flu/random viral attack I routinely get when the semester is finally over and my immune system can finally let its guard down.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

{{{Seska}}} You've gotten wise advice about coping, so I'm just going to point and nod, especially to where Teppy said it was everyone's loss but especially the Girl's family's loss in not getting to know your goodness.

And Burrell, that's utterly mindboggling. Granted, I've only met your husband once, but he struck me as so thoroughly charming and engaging (and utterly happy to be married to you and out and about on a brunch date with you) that I literally cannot imagine anyone deciding to hate him. And that was even before he and you had your two awesome children.

Other people's families are...puzzling.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

(((Seska))) I have nothing to add to what the wise people here have already said, but I'm sending a ton of -ma your way.

I ended up not speaking to the majority of my family for 12 years.

So what was the bad part?

t projecting own issues

did anyone see the Obama note for the 10 year old for missing school? [link]

I think it's great. Plus, no date on the note! She can re-use it for years!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Ginger, ha! My sister wasn't shunning me, so it was just the situation with my mom that really hurt. The rest of my family was no loss.

Barb, you know I've thought about it, but I figured it would never sell! Hell, that's not even the whole story. Drugs! Sex! Black Magic! ... well, D&D, anyway.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Thanks JZ, I find him charming and wonderful too. As for my sister, I think she has projected onto him a whole host of issues that don't have much to do with him. I always hope that, as she deals with her issues, she'll eventually come to see he's a good guy.
