And if Nate isn't known for lying, I'd think he could at least report the kid, even if there were no adult witnesses.

He's not known for lying, but he has gotten in trouble for a physical altercation earlier in the year-- plus the school has a policy/habit of treating all complaints of bullying/physical issues unless they're witnessed and reported by adults with the ubiquitous "You all really need to try to get along..."

The school's just too freakin' big to be effectively policed.

ION, I just had an idea for a tattoo, and I can't decide if it's ridiculous or genius. A swirlybat -style frame containing the ISBN of the book in a nice font. It would go on my right inner forearm, with two other swirlybat designs.
