[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

How much do you tip delivery men? Tomorrow, my new couch is being delivered. It's got to come up three flights of stairs. Assuming that they are on time, efficient and don't make a mess, what's an appropriate tip?

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

sj, no - there's a lift. But the front door is extremely heavy, apparently for security reasons - it's near-impossible to open from a wheelchair, and I'm prone to dislocated shoulders, so I can't risk it. The building management company are currently ignoring our lawyer's advice that they have to sort it out. We're wondering how long they can do that for...

"Go back to school."

Heh. Though in this economy, it's quite possible they've already gone to school.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Vortex, I gave my delivery guys a rather large tip ($10 each) because I wanted them to take my old couch down the two flights to the dumpster. I probably could have gotten away with $5 each, but I didn't want them to refuse. When I had my previous couch delivered, I didn't give them any tip at all, but I was only a few steps up the stairs and they didn't have an old couch to remove.

That's super frustrating. I hope that they can figure it out soon.

Oh yay for Joe! Remember that "least educated" rarely correlates with "least smart".
