"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Rock on JZ! Oh, and thanks for the hugs the other day!

If I knew how to use Visio, I could be working on a really important project right now. Am really disappointed in myself.

Mostly lurking...

Oh, JZ, that's nerve wracking! I hope it all turns out fabulously!

Oh, DJ, that's too bad! Visio is fun!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

It looks like fun! I'm reviewing tutorials now. Thinking about seeing if coworker can go over it with me and then I can figure the rest of it out myself.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

NoiseDesign, I'm sorry I forgot to wish you a happy birthday yesterday, so HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!

YAY JZ!!!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

vw - what they said! That!

JZ - Yay Job!

P-C - wrod wrt the letter. And not to worry about the ethnicity of your mates making you a terrible Indian - say rather that the qualities you value in friends are not culturally-specific. And since MOST people in America are not Indian, that means that your chances of finding cool people who are nonIndian is pretty high. Alternatively, you are being a bold and intrepid explorer, willingly hanging out with the gori girls and boys regardless of their lack of Indianocity. Or something.

ion, sadly my anime turns out to be in Japanese with Thai subtitles. But I'll watch it anyway. (Must learn more Japanese, stat!) (As it would be impossible for me to know LESS Japanese than I presently do. Almost. Oregato. Sushi. Yaoi. Potato sarada. Sensei.) My live action version of Death Note, however, does have English subtitles, as advertised.

They are THE funniest, most utterly fucking random English subtitles that I have encountered in, well, ever. I'm pretty sure that they were Babblefished, and then typed up by someone dyslexic and short-sighted who was listening to the radio and having an argument with their girlfriend at the same time.

Nevertheless, I am watching the movie, and quite enjoying it.

(And planning to learn more Japanese, stat.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ooh Fay, I have a Thai question for you - what exactly does "yum" translate as? (We ordered from a FABULOUS new Thai place last night and I always thought yum meant soup, but if this menu is to be believed, that's apparently not the case. And DH was 6 when he lived in Thailand so he's no help at all on this.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, all I hear from my dad is that Indians aren't bad people. Because I've clearly made it a point not to make Indian friends. My one Indian friend being the exception that proves the rule.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I think "tom" is soup. "yum" is maybe coconut milk?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Thinking about seeing if coworker can go over it with me and then I can figure the rest of it out myself.

I've never had any formal training, and go years between using it for anything, but I've always found Visio remarkebly easy to use. Among other things, it doesn't try to outthink you like so many Microsoft products (Word bullets and numbering, I'm looking at you!), but I also find it very intuitive.
