GC, I also love Softt's for the red shoe! It's unanimous I think! And my fave browns were the Frye's and the Nine Wests.
Emily, when are you going to Cairo?! How exciting! A friend of mine is going there to teach for 2 years in August (and, yes, I've gotten her in touch with Fay. Unsurprisingly she's in TOTAL LOVE!)
Well, you could easily take the train in to Boston or Cambridge, as I do to a myriad of job possibilities.
There are also suburban office parks in Danvers and Beverly (and Peabody I assume) AND, during the halloween season you could get a job yelling about BURNINATING THE WITCHES!!!! Seriously, they have a lot of period acting-y jobs during June-Nov.

He already has this job. Sadly, noone pays him to bitch about me.
In general, the Boston area is still doing OK as far as job market is concerned. Lots of stuff going on in the region.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
Stop looking at Salem, you are moving back to Los Angeles.
I'm looking at all these Salem sites in my pimping efforts and I'm falling in love with Salem all over again! It's a city! It's on the water! It's historical! It has great beer! There are big boats and old houses! It's easy commuting to Boston (seriously, it takes me 1 hour door to door for my commute, and that could be less if you work closer to North Station than I do.)
Siiigh... and summer in Salem is the best.
