Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good eliminations! I caught that I was having Kherrington syndrome over Asuka (but she's so beautiful!) , so was able to check myself....

Thrive to spite them

What was it that Cat said about a show re-airing for the Michael Jackson tribute?

The piece Caitlin and Jason danced to ... what horror movie was that in? I want to say The Omen, but I'm not sure. It was ... weird to see people dancing to it. For me.

It was "O Fortuna" from Orff's Carmina Burana. It has been used in a lot of stuff, most recently in those horrid Republican anti-gay marriage ads. I agree it was a horrible music choice.

ETA: Or is it the Gitmo ad? Anyway, one of those Republican fear-mongering ads that popped up recently.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

"O Fortuna"? Really? That's...an interesting choice. Though I seem to remember that Paul Wylie had a cool ice-skating routine to it.

I really like Carmina Burana (and have it on CD), but "O Fortuna" is pretty intense and way overused at this point. It's like the "Hallelujah" of concert music.

And there's some other stuff in Carmina that could conceivably make cool dance music. Or at least better.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Just what I was hoping for. We'll see if Karla makes a better partner for Vitolio than Asuka, but I'm seriously iffy on her, too.

It occurs to me that, since I've been having trouble getting up lately, maybe I should switch out my alarm's current CD (Grieg's "Peer Gynt: Morning Mood") for "O Fortuna". That would certainly get one's blood going.
