Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Bummer! But I don't honestly think you missed that much.
Woo hoo! I'm so happy that Suzanne won - I had never heard of her before but she impressed me this episode.
shankman on twitter - he loves everyone so far, but..."Jason and Caitlin were great.. Given the choreog."
the shane choreog did not do anything for me.
I had never heard of her before but she impressed me this episode.
Ditto that.
Is it bad that I always flash to that Damon Wayans skit on In Living Color where he plays that prison philosopher every time Lil C speaks? There's a certain "divinity" to Evan's movements? Really? Even so, I do love me some Lil C. He was doing at home critiques last week. Awww.
Randi and Evan were a lot of fun but Evan really did lack crispness and snap on all those flicks. I'm thinking of the Danny/Anya Jive from week one and even though I was annoyed by Danny's ballet technique bleeding into the routine a little too much, they were so much crisper. But I did think these two were awfully fun. Randi is really impressing me because I did not like her that much coming out of audition rounds.
Bow Wow Wow is one of my favorite choreographers and I liked that routine a lot, but I didn't love it. I'm not sure I'll remember much about it tomorrow other than the hideous hot pink leggings. And did they have Ade wearing pleather pants? Pleather pants for the second week in a row on the show? Oh, wardrobe people. Leave that crack alone.
Melissa still seemed to be holding back a little bit. I felt like she couldn't totally give in, too pulled up, too much ballet. Ade was great. Maybe not as great as the judges played it, but he is yummy to watch.
Wylie Dufresne getting rattled is pretty funny.
Yeah. Methinks he's going to be the nicest judge ever next time he's on "Top Chef."
Doriana turns in a killer routine and Shane's routine is just a'ight? My world is all asunder.
So, so excited for BFree. I do miss the Brian Friedman curls, though.
SYTYCD: I thought this week, like last week, was pretty solid with a few weak standouts so that it's easy to come up with a bottom three. This week, it's definitely the two hip hop numbers and the tango.
I really liked the Pop Jazz. It reminded me a bit of the FOB Dance Dance routine from seasons back. Although not stellar, I liked both ballroom routines and BWW's "jazz". But, and I can't believe I'm saying this, my favorite was the disco number. I think it's the best I've seen from all the seasons and I don't really like either of those dancers.
