I've missed a couple now, because my mother called. ::glares southward::
I've realized I also don't much about the different styles of dance. What is jazz, exactly? Like, how is it different than contemporary? Tempo and lines?

Jazz in seen most in the angles, hands and feet. Contemporary is smoother, more like ballet but with less pointy feet.
Ah! I was going to say it seemed like contemporary was maybe more fluid.
man, i've missed BFree on this show. such a great choreographer.
Half the time, when they aren't ballroom, I couldn't tell you what "style" it is from looking...
If pressed, I could probably identify traditional ballet (by the shoes!), tap, and swing. And ... that's maybe it.
aww!! Stacey Tookey from SYTYCDC!!! she choreographed one of my favorite routines from that season.
Nigel's pretty funny, isn't he?
Poor Philip. He was sooo out of his element in the tango.
It just occured to me that some of the style creep is probably because of the diversity of dancers and styles on the show -- choreographers might throw stuff in that the dancer can do well, even if it isn't strictly key to the given style, even beyond obvious tricks and etc., huh?
