"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I was so pleased with the proud football coach dad. I think it's just awesome that he's supportive like that. And you know damn well he's going to help his son build up his strength, because that's something he can do. And he'll be a hell of a dancer when he does. Can you imagine a guy with that height able to get serious elevation on a jump? He'd own the stage.

I'm glad the African dance guy made it through and I wish they'd talked to him about the style.

I really liked the second blonde (not curly) sister. I thought her work was really expressive and much better than her sister's.

The jazz/tap brothers are also cute, but I agree that they may be limited by their style. I hope to see what they do in Vegas.

What's the format now? We have one more round of early auditions, and then how much time in Vegas? This is the first time I've watched the audition rounds.

You know, I am really annoyed that Nigel sends good hip hoppers to choreography. I've seen much more marginal work from ballroom or salsa dancers (like the first salsa couple, where the guy was okay at best, but they got through). He assumes that hip hoppers don't have any training, but all other good dancers will be fine, particularly contemporary dancers.

and I LOVED football coach dad, and I loved that Travis realized how special it was.

It's on two nights a week until they get to top 10, I think. You just missed auditions. I generally fast forward through most of it, watching the whole 2 hours in about 45 minutes :)

Cool. Not that I really care that much about early auditions, but the completist in me wants to see it all.

I miss having a dvr.

Because books.

I think it started on Thursday last week, which was why last night's show confused me.

And tonight I kind of want to watch the spelling bee...

Nigel has been talking up tonight's episode for days, Amy. you don't know "Sex", but he has auditioned at least 4 out of the 5 seasons and he's terrible. apparently tonight there is some kind of dance off between him and someone else. Nigel also claims this will be the last we see of "Sex" and when we see tonight's ep "we'll know why".

Sex is classic.

He lives with his mother, who has this very heavy new york accent. I remember her complaining that no one would recognize his talent. Clue much?
