God, I hated the way Adam sang that song. Hated the interpretation. But he sure can sing.

Because books.

Seriously. I thought he turned that beautiful, very raw, spare song into elevator music. ICK. He can sing, no doubt, I just don't want to listen most of the time.

I feel like Paula is stuck in the 80s. Terence Trent D'Arby? Really?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Have you heard Mary J. Blige and U2 do "One?" It's a little much, IMO, though I kind of like it.

I love "One" - one of my favorite songs on Achtung Baby and Adam murdered it. He can sing, but he murdered it.

Yes! Husband and I were actually saying how much we like that version.

Thrive to spite them

I think Paula is totally stuck in the 80s. I liked One until Adam went to hit that high note and it was eh. Disappointed in Kris's attempt at Apologzie.

Danny just sang You are So Beautiful and it was. boring. The judges loved it but instead of being entranced by the vocals I was easily distracted by Kitty Dean playing with crumpled paper.

I was so fucking worried when Kris said he was singing "heartless." I was like: holy fuck how is he going to pull this off?

he did a nice nice job.

I just love Danny's voice. That growly, husky thing always works for me, and I do think he sings well. I would totally listen to an album of his.

I really liked Kris's performance of "Heartless". And I don't like Kanye's version at all, so ... I'm not sure if that's why.

Also, the judges' fighting tonight is annoying. Ryan should ask for combat pay.

Danny's #2 reminded me why I once used to like him.

Kris' #2 made me kinda hope he wins.

I sure hope Adam's #2 doesn't suck. During One I said out loud, "he sounds like Diana Ross." And not in a good way.

He did a really good job. His song choices and arrangements are a big reason why I like him better than Danny and now I want to hear a Kris and Adam finale because I think it would be really interesting.

Danny is nice and safe and he can sing but... the big question at work today (among the Idol watchers) was -- what kinda album would Danny make? None of us could figure it out. Kris's I could imagine original songs, some covers (maybe) a mix of guitar and piano and something different. Adam is...well Adam and his cd would be him, maybe something theatrical or glam rock esque.

But Danny? I'm not sure. Ballads? Inspirational songs?
