And next episode in two weeks! Bah.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I'm surprised that in addition to the penalty the show didn't, you know, undo what they did with the pumps. Not really fair to the other teams, and I wonder how much extra effort (and time) doing that two miles with flat tires added on. Not that they shouldn't have checked them out anyway before taking off, but still.
ION, I have been watching Planet Earth in HDTV for hours and it is awesome. Nature is freaky and exhausting though.
Cute baby animals! Who... often get eaten.
Awww, I'm gonna miss Mel and Mike! I loved the contrast between them and the blondes while choosing the drawers at the spice shop. But, they should have listened the first time someone told them that the ape statue was at the zoo.
Planet Earth--I finally have my HD cable working correctly, so I now get to see these in high-def. Amazing detail! I love the snow leopard sequence. The behind-the-scenes stuff at the end of that ep were interesting; the first cameraman who tried to get the footage had the thickest Scots accent. "I'm all set--now all I need are one or two pussycats!" is great to hear in a brogue.
The blondes?
Or the redheads?
The redheads were horrible. Just horrible. They NEED to go. I was so embarrassed by their behavior.
Oops, I meant the redheads! Sorry to denigrate all blondes out there.
The redheads, specifically Jaime, was really bad today. The fact that both of them were perfectly aware of her Ugly American behavior but that neither of them seemed to curb it was even worse.
But, Phil was awesome at the pitstop, when Margie went down. What other show host would spend time giving first aid? Just goes to show that they really don't have a big group of production people there behind the camera.
So pissed we lost Mike & Mel and still have those bumbling idiots around.
Was there a roadblock during this leg?
I don't think there was. . . how odd. I think that all the tasks were for both team members.
I wonder if the rickshaw was intended to be and they changed it up for some reason? Like the heat, or not wanting to accidentally kill Mel if he'd taken it? Because I was surprised that they were able to switch off.
