Awww, I'm gonna miss Mel and Mike! I loved the contrast between them and the blondes while choosing the drawers at the spice shop. But, they should have listened the first time someone told them that the ape statue was at the zoo.
Planet Earth--I finally have my HD cable working correctly, so I now get to see these in high-def. Amazing detail! I love the snow leopard sequence. The behind-the-scenes stuff at the end of that ep were interesting; the first cameraman who tried to get the footage had the thickest Scots accent. "I'm all set--now all I need are one or two pussycats!" is great to hear in a brogue.
The redheads were horrible. Just horrible. They NEED to go. I was so embarrassed by their behavior.
Oops, I meant the redheads! Sorry to denigrate all blondes out there.
The redheads, specifically Jaime, was really bad today. The fact that both of them were perfectly aware of her Ugly American behavior but that neither of them seemed to curb it was even worse.
But, Phil was awesome at the pitstop, when Margie went down. What other show host would spend time giving first aid? Just goes to show that they really don't have a big group of production people there behind the camera.
So pissed we lost Mike & Mel and still have those bumbling idiots around.
Was there a roadblock during this leg?
I don't think there was. . . how odd. I think that all the tasks were for both team members.
I wonder if the rickshaw was intended to be and they changed it up for some reason? Like the heat, or not wanting to accidentally kill Mel if he'd taken it? Because I was surprised that they were able to switch off.
But that was part of a Detour - either rickshaw or the barrels on the boat.
That being said, I was surprised they could trade off too and I definately felt like something was missing without the Roadblock. Maybe the elephant thing took the place of the roadblock?
Maybe they had a detour scheduled, but decided to skip it due to the heat?
No Roadblock! Weird!
Re: Team Red. I've never been to Thailand, but I have been to India, and I do really sympathize with the teams who find it hard to handle. India is the most overwhelming place I've ever been and I was there as a tourist traveling with my family (in-laws) who spoke fluent Hindi. The trick is simply not to be an asshole about it - the lack of personal bubbles and/or sense of urgency can be deeply stressful if you're not used to it, but that does not make it okay to yell at your cab driver!
ION, I miss having team nicknames.
