I cringed at the whole "somebody stole it!" bit, given the context. But it did seem like the locals were having a good time.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Yes, they were going for cliched things - gypsies and vampires but the vampire stuff was just fun and the gypsy stuff was insulting. (But - more laughing locals - it seems to be a theme this season.)
Yes to all of this.
I did wish the goths had been competing in this season, though! Vampires!
megan, is this the season you tried out for? TAR is the only reality TV show I have any interest in. I think Joe and I would love it but I'm not going to try out while I'm still nursing (obviously).

Yes. Not that I thought we had a real chance, but I didn't want to regret not trying. I've been trying to get a partner to actually follow through with the application for awhile. The video thing is a pain because it has to be submitted on VHS (a big thanks to ND for making the transfer when I was in LA)!
Yeah, I am depressed that you and J aren't in this round too. You would have been so much better than anyone that's on there now.
I was pissed, not even at what happened exactly, but at Victor's statement at the end along the lines of "I don't think she meant to be intentionally hurtful" revealing how he looked at the whole thing. And I loved that her reaction was, "I learned that I need to hurt his feelings more to get myself heard." Sheesh.
And I liked the eliminated couple, too. But I hate episodes like this where travel woes happen so early that you know what's going to happen the whole time and you're just waiting for them to lose.
yeah, but I get what she was saying. My dad and I are kinda pushing through a place where he won't hear me on certain issues until I get all up in his face and upset him. THEN he hears me, and pouts, but he hears me and come back shortly in a better place.
No, I agree with her. I just was sheeshing at the situation to begin with.
ahh gotcha.
If anyone else saw yesterday's Top Gear on BBCA, the "star in a reasonably priced car" was some guy I'd never heard of before. However, according to TWOP, he's the voice of both the Geico gekko and the Travelocity gnome! (Harry Enfield is his name.)
My sister just told me that my nephew wants to apply to TAR with me when he hits 18 (in two years). Cutiehead. He actually wanted to apply for the family edition, but we couldn't convince either of my siblings to join us.
