Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, Carla continues to be awesome in this washingtonpost.com chat: [link]

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Also, someone on my friends list said she spotted Arianne as a sous chef for the competitor on Iron Chef America last episode. Anyone else see it?

We did! We found ourselves strangely excited to see her. Which is odd, as she was never a favorite. Still, cool. (We were also excited to see Trey from a couple seasons ago as a sous chef on it a while back.)

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, ick!

Poor Carla. I wish she had had more confidence in her own cooking

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

They gave her a sous chef. And Casey is string enough in the kitchen that Carla's deferential streak kicked in.

And she needs to not beat herself up over it. She came in effectively tied for second place. There's no shame in finishing that close. It means you're competetive at this level. I'm sure not winning hasn't taken Stefan down a peg at all.

Oh, I'm so disappointed! Fucking Casey.

Also, I can't believe they said "twat" on TV.

But really: Fucking Hosea??? And did Tom look less than thrilled when they did the round of, "Do we have a winner?"?

It must have been the Ilan Hall memorial "Top Douche" season.

And did Tom look less than thrilled when they did the round of, "Do we have a winner?"?

Lea saw his face and said, "Wow. That look says it all."

And, it's hard to take it away from him, on the strength of that meal. Stefan got cocky and sloppy, and Carla let someone else sway her judgment too easily. They pretty much got undone by their primary weaknesses. Whereas douche-iness is a weakness rarely punished in these situations. (It's punished later, when people see the TV footage and know you for what you are.)

Yeah, you know, it's true about Carla -- she did less well earlier in the season, when it was all about team challenges. She just needs to be alone to do her own thing.

Trust my rage

You know, Carla may have lacked confidence and Stefan maybe had too much, but Hosea was the weakest of the three. I can't believe he won.
