She really bugged me when she was saying over and over how much she wanted to be there. Who cares?!
Was there anybody else who, when she first popped up on the confessional segments, wondered, "Who the hell is that?" Seriously. I totally forgot she was on the show.
Tom Colicchio in the middle of the afternoon is a completely different audience than Kathy Lee Gifford at 6 in the morning. His dish didn't stand a chance in that venue no matter how well executed it was.
A-yup. Totally agree with this. That being said, the challenge pretty much screamed: BE MAINSTREAM! DO NOT CHALLENGE THE DIM TV PEOPLE!!!! Which may be good advice, but it wasn't something I look to "Top Chef" for.
Also, I thought Tom's comment about Jamie's dish being "almost there" was telling. In reality, even on TV, there would have been a couple factors that would have salavaged the situation for her. Not so much with the undone desert. (Although I think it's interesting that only Stephan seemed to have a swap plate handy. Hasn't EVERYBODY seen TNFNS by this point?)

Or, say, any cooking show at all?

In all fairness, they didn't know that they would be cooking for the mainstream.
In Jeff's defense, they did wind up picking the salad as the winner.
Meredith or someone said something like, "It's not interesting, but at least it tastes good" or something.

It was sold as a tv demo -- I think that calls for mainstream, even if you DON'T assume there's some twist.
Fabio has totally grown on me.
Survivor--Another great ep. I am totally Bob's bitch right now. I love that Mrs. Bob is as charming as Bob. Her telling the camera how good he looked and smelled was so adorable.
And yet? I was glad when their wacky plan failed. Maybe now that Corrine's gone I can root for him, but Sugar still has my heart.
I *loved* Kenny's "flush out the idol or get rid of Corinne" add-on to the wacky plan! Brilliant!
That said, I hope it comes down to Bob v Sugar in the end because I just like them. (Anyone would be pretty stupid to take Bob to the final 2, but he's good enough in challenges that I think it could happen.)
Ooh, Bob v. Sugar would be fabulous.

yeah, but he didn't need to vote for Matty in order to get that plan going. Bob and Corrine's vote would have sufficed if the idol was real and played. Hell, Bob could have voted for Corrine too. So I though Kenny was... not so smart.

I think his goal was that if Corinne's idol WAS real and she played it, he wanted to be able to prove he was on their side.
