And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

And for the FF, when you know you are going to a restaurant, wouldn't you assume you have to eat something and that would likely include meat?

I know, right? "Traditional dish" = DEAD ANIMAL PARTS, pretty much anywhere outside the south of India.

The cow costume bit increased my Toni & Dallas love about a thousandfold. They may not be the fastest team physically, but they don't make mistakes, and they're having fun with it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would assume he had decided ahead of time that he would eat meat on the race, but balked when it was actually in front of him. HOWEVER, I feel like that is somewhat predictable, so why would you bother going to the restaurant-based FF when another strong team was going as well? I just can't imagine that working out.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I've only begun watching TAR - for something like the last two episodes - and I'm already tired of the frat boys. They're dumb. And obnoxious. And people keep helping them. I did kind of like the woman who talked to the birds as she moved them (last weeks she was talking to the birds in the hospital/sanctuary as she was looking for a clue).

Oh, Frat Boys must go next. They must.

Loved Toni and Dallas in the cow costume. They're really having fun on the race and doing very well too.

They've pretty much made it this far because there's always been one team making a HUGE mistake (or unlucky at the airport, etc) that turned out to be worse than their general incompetence. And I hate teams like that.

What gets me is that other teams are helping them out - like last week, in India, having someone point out the numbered tags they're supposed to be looking for. bah! And this week they were even grating on each other.

The Kitchn has an interview up with Stephanie from last year's Top Chef. This is why I love her:

What are you doing for Thanksgiving?
I like getting friends together so I can do as much cooking as I can. I'm having a dinner party the week of Thanksgiving. I like to have all-pork dinner parties.

All-pork dinner parties?
All parts of the pig. I try to have pork belly or ground pork, pork tenderloin. I've done a savory bacon crème brûlée. Last Thanksgiving I did a suckling pig instead of a turkey. You can get ones that fit in your oven, and it comes out great, with the skin all crunchy and tasty. Curled up in the oven, though, it does look pretty sad.

That reminds me. Padma mentioned that only one Top Chef winner did not win the first elimination. Is that Stephanie?

Art Crawl!!!

You mean Ilan. No, he did win season 2's first challenge.

It was Hung - who won the season but Tre won the first challenge.
