Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

What gets me is that other teams are helping them out - like last week, in India, having someone point out the numbered tags they're supposed to be looking for. bah! And this week they were even grating on each other.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The Kitchn has an interview up with Stephanie from last year's Top Chef. This is why I love her:

What are you doing for Thanksgiving?
I like getting friends together so I can do as much cooking as I can. I'm having a dinner party the week of Thanksgiving. I like to have all-pork dinner parties.

All-pork dinner parties?
All parts of the pig. I try to have pork belly or ground pork, pork tenderloin. I've done a savory bacon crème brûlée. Last Thanksgiving I did a suckling pig instead of a turkey. You can get ones that fit in your oven, and it comes out great, with the skin all crunchy and tasty. Curled up in the oven, though, it does look pretty sad.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

That reminds me. Padma mentioned that only one Top Chef winner did not win the first elimination. Is that Stephanie?

Art Crawl!!!

You mean Ilan. No, he did win season 2's first challenge.

It was Hung - who won the season but Tre won the first challenge.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Finally watched Survivor. Man, I saw all kinds of racism in Randy's rant about Krystal and her "posse" and "gang" and "arrogance." I have always thought Randy was a pig, but now I also think he's a racist pig.

Also, when Charlie was voted out, my DH turned to me and said "At least he gets to be with NMarcus." And sure enough, that's exactly what Charlies said. Charlie's OTP love for Marcus is so adorably OBVIOUS--I wonder if that will come up in the reunion show.

Oh, no shit.

I have always thought Randy was a pig, but now I also think he's a racist pig.

Yup. I have no idea how he makes a living videotaping weddings. He's just an all around unpleasant human being.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Top Chef: I can see the preview monkeys over at Bravo have been doing flash forwards, as the one they showed last week made it seem like Stefan was going to have immunity this week.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Fabio's dish looked really good, but I just think that it should be a handicap if you serve a dish that you've made before. A new idea should give you a edge.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I just watched Survivor from last week and I also noticed the racism. This season Jeff has targeted Kenny and Crystal for such scorn. Every single "previously on..." talks about how their tribe is the worst ever seen on Survivor, despite the fact that those are the only two people who have remained on it. Presumably because Kenny is not physically strong and Crystal fails at being as strong as she is supposed to be. So I love that they keep destroying people anyway. I can't believe they were able to get rid of Marcus, and I was shocked at this one too. So now I'm rooting for Kenny and Crystal against the Jeff Probst steamroller.
