I am not stunned. I would have been surprised (and pleased) if Korto had won, but I thought that they would have liked Leanne's work more. The only thing that they worried about was whether she was "one note", but they had no significant complaints about the collection (although those pants had some fit issues!) They talked about how some of Korto's stuff was overworked (and she should have made that white dress her wedding dress, but I suppose that it doesn't matter since she got to Bryant Park). I loved the colors in the collection, and that halter dress was beautiful with the beadwork. The greens and blues were lovely, and I liked how she added the fans to give color and cohesion.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I was coming here to say pretty much what Vortex said, so, what Vortex said.
I do think Leanne's collection was way too one note - by the fourth or fifth look it was clear that the waves were the name of the game and I was watching to see how she fit them on each look, not looking for anything surprising. But they were lovely, and beautifully made, and for the talk about her being Petals Marshall or whatev, it's not like Rami and the draping where she'd been doing that all along - she had the history on the show to demonstrate that this isn't her only look. So I wasn't surprised they let that slide.
I was pulling for Korto but I think Leanne probably was the better pick.
Yes, I think Leeanne had it more together at the moment.
Korto really did lovely work as well.
I thought that Kenley's was kind of costumey.

My thoughts exactly.
What I really hope is that, with this win, Leanne gets a personal makeover. Her hair was driving me nuts last night! (Signed, Shallow LaJudger)
The only dress that I didn't like in Korto's collection was the supershort green one. And I liked the dress, it just needed to be a few inches longer. I swear I saw an asscheek through the slit!
The Project RunGay boys had a good point:
the Leanne vs. Korto question is settled when we look at it this way: If you were to take away all the styling choices and remove all the color from each collection, which one would stand up more?
For us that answer is obviously Leanne. Korto's collection got a big boost from the incredibly rich colors, the extravagant jewelry and the masterful styling and staging (loved those fans), but in terms of pure fashion with a capital F, it's just got to be Judy Noodles.
Yes! That dress was waaaay too short.
New Bourdain show - debuts Monday, October 20th.
Sounds like "Dinner for Five" from IFC, except about food instead of movies. I like the concept. Some of my favorite Bourdain moments have been the "having dinner with friends/acquaintances" segments of his shows.
hah! from a comment on Proj Rungay
All of you who are so concerned about Leanne's hair will be happy to know that when she appeared on Regis & Kelly this morning, she had had a cut and it was clean. It looked SO much better!
THANK GOD!
oh my googly! I watched the this week's Top Design last night and Kelly Werstler's outfit was KOOKAROO!!! even more than usual. Completely nutso insane and I LOVED it!
