I also loves me the Geeks.
Nora beat me to my early and total hatred of Team Newly Dating an Asshole. What a total jerk! Also don't like the frat boys (whom I identified as such as soon as they showed up on screen before I even noticed their t-shirts). Everyone knows that you don't do the slow-but-easy task in the first leg, you idiots! (Also, don't these teams watch the first legs of every other season? The check-in at the opening airport is always flagged--you never get in the general flyers line!)
I'm liking the brother-and-sister team, surprisingly enough. At first, I thought they'd just fade in with all the other young-and-beautiful teams, but his eye-rolling over the fratboy's jerkiness while in the airport line (wonderfully captured by the cameraman with the fratboy in the background and the brother in the foreground) got my attention. I also liked their teaming up with the separated team on a limited basis--they know how to play the game this early in the race.
Everyone knows that you don't do the slow-but-easy task in the first leg, you idiots!
And just on a practical level, the stairs task looked like it could seriously fuck up your knees for any other potential running tasks later in the leg. Morons.
Can anyone explain to me what the kerfuffle was between Assholes and Siblings? Because I feel like I blinked and suddenly Jackass McSurfaceStreets was ranting about how much he hates Starr. (And not just the spelling of her name, with which I could sympathize.)

I'm pretty sure that the Siblings have no idea they are in a kefuffle either- I think Glasses Girl Dating a Total Tool tried to say something about cabs being hard to find and they didn't hear her or understand she was talking to them(I sure didn't and I have the editing on my side) and then the Tool pretty much was all, see??? they hate you!!! And she was all, "I guess you're right."
Oh, I hope my tivo got TAR. And keeps it 'til after work.
Okay, so it's not just me. I couldn't follow the cab thing at all - I thought maybe he was mad at her for "sharing information" by saying cabs were hard to find? So the siblings went to a different corner to find one?
Anyway, CONFUSING.
The thing to remember is that their logic is not our Earth logic.
The douches have found their new king.
Seriously! And when they were on the rope climbing thing and he told her "I can climb and talk, you can't!" WTF??!?!?! I hope she dumbs his ass during the race. What a total tool.
I'm sad about the hippies leaving. Not that I usually tolerate hippies well but I thought they probably could really use the money to keep their bee farm going.
I'm already wishing I had applied to this one (instead of TAR 14 which, according the application, is filming now) because it already seems like these teams are very lame.
They went to Brazil! Where? Man, I am so jealous that I missed this. I will have to see if I can find it online. TAR is the one reality TV show that I could see myself doing. Joe and I would be an awesome team.
I had such hopes for the hippies! They were fit! They chop their own wood! They should have been okay. Ah well, farewell sources for future "that'll give you, um, bees" jokes.
I was disappointed, because when Glasses Girl spoke the language well I wanted to like them. But seriously, total control freak! And the "talk to me" bit was so ridiculous. You spend so little time actually together with the other teams I think it's advantageous for her to talk to them when they can.
I thought Team Cheating Heart was going to be pissed when referred to as Mom & Dad, but they just accepted it. Their alliance is going to be so sad when Mom & Dad inevitably break up on the road.
Oh, and there was the obligatory "you're the one that's supposed to speak Spanish" when entering the not-Spanish-speaking country.
We seriously need a Buffistas team. We would kick ass with our navigational skills and our savvy and our grace under pressure skills. The geeks will have to stand in for us. I loved their jacket tactic, and that they seem ready to tackle whatever comes their way. I hope they hang in.
Noticed there wasn't a preppie young all guy team this time, so it'll have to be a preppie young mixed team that wins. Not as heavy on the racial mixture either, and the one old team is already gone.
