Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sure, but it's definitely not Rococo.

Have we commented here about Korto saying she was going to use "leathuh"?? That was hilarious!

Seriously!

I can't believe neither of those designers knew what Blade Runner is. COME ON, PEOPLE! have some cultural knowledge.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

you know, that made me feel really old.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Now, I love Blade Runner, but if you're not into sci fi, why would you know this movie? It didn't do well in theatres when it first came out, it only had a critical revival relatively recently.

I don't know if I want to keep watching the show. I hate India (was anyone else annoyed that she called one of the female teams "girls"), and I don't really like any of the contestants any more.

really? It just made me feel like they were kinda stupid. It's been re-released a million times and is part of the cultural lexicon and these people are supposed to be part of the creative class???

And, if you DON'T know what it is? Act embarassed at least and ASK!

I mean, I didn't expect the designers on Project Runway to be super familiar with A Foriegn Affair (and I REALLY wish they'd shown the designers that film) but Blade Runner ?

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I've never seen Blade Runner all the way through, but I have seen enough clips of it to know the general feel. And it's been a huge influence on other sci-fi films, The Fifth Element, The Matrix, etc. Not to mention that most commercials, music videos, TV shows that purport to show a kind of post-apocalyptic future usually owe a little something to Blade Runner. While I can totally see that Wisit and Big Daddy are not the target audience for that movie, they should at least be somewhat familiar with the design aesthetic. (Especially egregious on Wisit's part as that aesthetic has definitely influenced designer's collections before Santino jumped on it. Really, Wisit?)

That said, I cannot understand why Shazia is still in this competition. She is so obviously in over her head. She's been on the bottom in two of the three challenges thus far and she never actually has any ideas or does any work. I still can't believe she escaped flooding the loft on the first challenge. Why won't she go?

Also, I love Kelly Wreastler sooooo much. Words fail. Purple ankle warmers!!

I've never seen Blade Runner, but at least I'm aware of it, and yes, would ask for more specific description.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've never seen Blade Runner

Dude! It's totally film noir...in the FUTURE!

It is a proven cultural corollary that anything that's good will be improved by putting it in space, or just in the future.

Josie and the Pussycats = good.

Josie and the Pussycats In Outer Space = Better!

I know, I know. It's just one of those things.

Edit: And I can apparently get it PPV for $2, so maybe this weekend.
