Yeah, I thought Toni was a good judge with comments that actually made me learn more about dance.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
I didn't think the foxtrot was as bad as they said. More importantly, I really didn't like the disco. The whole thing seemed off, the song choice, Chelsie's look, the energy, eveything.
You and I are as one here. Given the train wreck they could have laid down, Mark and Comfort managed to really hold it together in the Foxtrot. And Mark in a suit and/or tux is always a great thing. On the flip side, both Chelsie and Josh looked really uncomfortable and tentative in the disco. Neither one of them committed to the dance. It reminded me a lot of the disco Danny did last year with Mischa Chan.
I missed nekkid Will tonight. The mesh shirt helped, but I've been spoiled and now I want nekkid Will every week. And where is my nekkid Mark? I'm gonna lose him tomorrow without ever getting him shirtless. What's up with that?
And Nigel's weird obsession with Josh' ass has got to stop. Umm, can someone tell me the safe word? Because I am really uncomfortable.
I find it hilarious that at some other sites, people are starting to be like, "Is the show rigged?" I mean, the easy pass everyone gives Twitch (who I am starting to hate as a result of the blatant favoritism), the hate-on for Mark, the Princess Will issue - of COURSE the show is rigged, as far as they can rig it in terms of partnering and dance choices.
I agree Mark and Comfort are going home, and it should be Twitch and Comfort. And it should have been Twitch last week.
Oh also, tonight my TV will be in a moving van and I'll have no wifi! Wah!
Also also, has there ever been a really really good disco? It's ALWAYS kinda off.
For msbelle and anyone else, here's the Josh/Chelsie disco piece: [link]

I've begun to wonder if it isn't the choreographer's personality/fault because the dancers always seem to be having so much fun in the studio with Jean-Marc Whatishisname, for example, and nsm with Doriana. It's possible that she's just not very inspiring as a teacher.
I fast forwarded through most of the judges comments last night, so I don't have an opinion on Toni as a judge. The people who went to the taping said she was very long winded. I echo the bring back Lil C comment, above.
If Mark goes tonight, who do we think the judges will point the bus towards? Twitch should go, but I don't know if they dare.
eta the Jean in Jean-Marc. I had coffee, it came back to me.
Wow, no PR?
I have to say, the challenges where the models are the clients are usually difficult and nice twist having them purchase the materials. I think Kenley did an excellent job but I get why Suede won. His dress seemed most appropriate for his client and I like that he played with the material more.
I can't recall what Wesley did last week - but this week he way overworked that satin. And what was Kortu thinking?
Stella's whininess is annoying.
They're having the eliminated models do exit interviews on the bravowebsite. That's new.
That was hot -- Twitch is great when he really commits.
YES! I loved the little 60’s funk move from the hips with the twitchy (ha!) feet.
I just want to them to quit throwing themselves on the floor! How do I know if you tripped, if you're performing a prayer or about to throw up?
Yes, one of my basic issues with contemporary. The music is also often crappy. I mean, if you perform to Celine Dion, I am automatically disposed to hate it.
but on the show, Comfort, Will, Joshua and Twitch do it.
Hmmm.
My stupid cable jacked up that whole routine. She was on the floor, it paused, and she was up in the air!
Mine too. Stupid digital cable.
I didn't like Will and Courtney's lyrical hiphop to Alicia Keys all that much either.
Me either. His moves were so much crisper than hers, I really saw the contrast.

Why is it even a style on this show!
PR:
I knew that Korto was okay. The dress design was bad, but the fit was good, and the idea was well executed, it just wasn't a good idea. Faced with a terrible idea and a badly fit dress, she was safe. She needs to not take it so personally, I think.
I knew that shorts boy was out because the dress looked like a piece of shit. It was badly fit (kiss of death!) and the idea didn't work. StudentWorker had an okay idea, she just needed to learn to edit. A few fewer loops, and it might have been okay. Shorts Boy's dress was unsalvageable. I do think that Student Worker will go home very soon.
I was surprised by Blaine's dress, it was really cute. After that monstrosity last week, I thought he was a disaster. I'm not sure if he's toned down his schtick or they just showed less of it this week.
I liked Bettie Page's dress, but it was too reminiscent of Daniel's orchid blouse (still one of my favorite pieces ever), I knew that it wouldn't win because of that.
I thought that the winning dress was cute, but I would never buy it, not even if I was 10 years younger and mumble pounds lighter. I think that the runner up would have sold MUCH better, and production would have been easier. But, the designer probably doesn't get the money, so who cares.
It was so cute how Natalie Portman tried to find something positive to say about each outfit. She seems like a nice person.
