Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Ooh, really? Where at?
No Reservations starts new episodes tonight!
Crap, saw this a day too late.
It's on Travel Channel. First one was in Laos. I don't know what the repeat schedule is like - i.e., I know that they repeat lots but don't know if they'll do this after the whole run or in the week before the next new one.
Dear lord, I am an unkind person because I SO wanted a long, lingering shot of Jen's reaction when Christina came through the door as the winner on Hell's Kitchen. I was practically screaming at my TV for it.
No shit. That was a serious missed opportunity.
Yeah, how did they miss that?
But Jen is so delusional.
(Also, the No Reservations Laos episode is repeating on the 14th - I think at 10 am.)
Wattched the Laos ep- very depressing and angry-making. Definitely hits home that American foreign policy decisions have been mega-imperialistic for a long, long time. I had no idea about the bombings there. Should look it up now, I guess, so that my primary source for this information isn't an ex-junkie chef/prfessional bullshitter. (which I say with love, of course.)
Bourdain was very subdued.
Next week is Columbia!
Wow, it's like Bourdain is doing a food version of P.J. O'Rourke's HOLIDAYS IN HELL. He already hit Belfast during the Irish episode (which, granted, is much improved from even a few years ago).
Big Brother starts on Sunday!
