No shit. That was a serious missed opportunity.
Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Yeah, how did they miss that?
But Jen is so delusional.
(Also, the No Reservations Laos episode is repeating on the 14th - I think at 10 am.)
Wattched the Laos ep- very depressing and angry-making. Definitely hits home that American foreign policy decisions have been mega-imperialistic for a long, long time. I had no idea about the bombings there. Should look it up now, I guess, so that my primary source for this information isn't an ex-junkie chef/prfessional bullshitter. (which I say with love, of course.)
Bourdain was very subdued.
Next week is Columbia!
Wow, it's like Bourdain is doing a food version of P.J. O'Rourke's HOLIDAYS IN HELL. He already hit Belfast during the Irish episode (which, granted, is much improved from even a few years ago).
Big Brother starts on Sunday!
Am watching She's Got the Look ("old" lady ANTM) marathon and it is AWESOME!
Big Brother!!
I saw a couple of episodes of ANTMM (America's Next Top Mature Model) and liked it quite a bit. But I never really knew when it was on or what channel so I kept missing it. I loved the black lady who said she was like 50 but was actually 70 (or close to 70) and the really weird, bird looking blonde lady.
And in SYTYCD news, Cat looks 99.9% normal tonight. What's up with that?
SYTYCD
Ah, I see. Mary's taken on the double crazy to make up for Cat's relative lack of crazy.
Chelsie and Mark- Alex DaSilva. Soooo much hate. Why is he such a trick fiend? Ok, so neither one of them really had the right hip action and Mark was too pulled up through the chest, but it was alright. Very difficult choreography, trick heavy as usual. Nigel's right, the footwork was good. Why is he such a sleazeball, though?
ETA: Bollywood is not a genre of dance. I'm sorry. I am afeared!
Thayne and Comfort - The routine was a little generic, but danced well. Thayne really cannot stop smiling, can he? So sad for him. I thought he did well with the moves, but it was really flat. Agreed with the judges that they didn't relate to each other at all.
I was planning on doing a watch and post tonight, YES I WAS! (all in the style of Mary Murphy), but alas, I will be watching on TiVo delay.
OMG, I thought Thayne was terrible. Maybe he would have looked better next to someone else, but ugh.
