I think he was happy with dropping out when he did.

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Kourtni and Matt: Both solos were really lovely. They are beautiful dancers.
Courtney and Gev: Fun solos. Courtney was shaky on her turns, but she was good. Gev's solo was great. Very well choreographed, not just a bunch of tricks. And the tricks that were there were well done.
Comfort and Thayne: Comfort is getting better at the solos. I think that was her best one yet. Matt is better than Thayne. And the Guy Smiley thing has got to stop.
Based on those solos, I'd send Thayne and Comfort home. Let's see if that will happen. I kinda doubt it.
ETA: And Nigel and his pants are overruled. Well, at least he got to get rid of Matt, which is bullshit. But Comfort and Thayne's days are numbered. I'd be shocked if they made it through next week.
I wish it had been Thane and Comfort instead.
They're supposed to dance there at the end, aren't they? I kind of love when they don't.
SYCTYD: I didn't realize that Napoleon and Tabitha used to be supervising choreographers on "America's Best Dance Crew." Did anyone here know that?
NappyTab were the early round judges in S1, the ones who decided who made it to the first televised battle (and I think the Nappy half was also an early round judge this season, maybe?). Small, incestuous world.
Ack! I was scared for Courtney and Gev there for a minute until it was made pretty clear they would make it through the night. It does mean they are vulnerable, though. I'm fine with Kourtni going home. Matt and Thayne were a bit interchangable to me- neither overly capable of showing much chemistry in the sexy dances and both carrying themselves too high, I guess. My knowledge of contemporary isn't good enough to find many differences between the two of them although Matt appeared to take things more seriously and I did find him more believeable.
I still think I must be missing something with Comfort. I found her solo tonight to be kind of boring.
So, Matt/Khourtni went home? I think that's about as good a choice as any of the rest of them. They were a beautiful couple together, but just not quite ready for prime time. I'd love to see Khourtni come back with a little more experience under her belt and a sense of how she can own the stage if she'd just take it.
Thayne and Comfort will be going home, within the next two weeks I'd say. Same with Courtney/Gev, even though I know they're the favorites of a number of people. Most of the folks who leave this early are ones who either can't shift to new styles easily (Comfort) or ones who have the technique but can't translate the emotions (Thayne.)
I'm also afeared for Twitchington. I love Twitch to death, but you can see he's still not quite comfortable about stepping out of his specialty. He's doing a great job learning it all, but there's still a tentativeness to it that show's up in his shoulders.
Note: All these observations are based on Wednesday night. I was innertubeless and TV deprived last night, so I didn't see last night's solos. Still, most of the folks showing up in the bottom three aren't going to make it to the final four, so I feel pretty safe in my analysis.

I don't think you have to worry about Twitch; it seems clear he's a big audience favorite, no matter what he does.
more so after seeing that chest.
damn!
