OK, in a binge of SYTYCD, I'ma watch the show and the results all at once here, then read what y'all have to say:

Chelsea and Thayne (Jazz: Untouched/The Veronicas): I like their pre-dance chatter. Cute. The dance was lots of fun, and she was great, but I didn't feel like he was really hitting it powerfully, somehow--he needed some oomph. Ooh, and Mia and the judges thinks they both muffed it. Ouch. But yeah, I liked Chelsea's dancing OK, but didn't really feel the chemisty between them at all, but mostly felt like it was Thane just being a big blank slate. What a shame.

Chelsie and Mark (Tango: Mi Confesión/Gotan Project): Mark has a good sexy look for tango, which I wouldn't have thought, before. Wow. I...did not expect to find him hot. Ever. But...damn. All Gomez out there and shit. I kinda didn't notice her in this dance. Oh OW, her pinkie out? Ouch. I've had that happen, but I've never had to keep dancing! Overall, I really loved it, even though I am not a big Chelsie fan.

Jessica and Will (Hip Hop: Whatever U Like/Nicole Scherzinger) (Seriously? Song by an ex Pussycat Doll? It's not enough to have her perform on the show? Geez). I was looking forward to seeing Will perform hip hop, but...meh. I mean, he was good at it, and clearly enjoying it more than, say, tango, but Jessica was meh, and the choreography didn't do all that much for me, partly cause the song was doing very very little for me. And the judges loved it? Really? That was "raw and dirty" Mia??? WTF? Glad at least she called Jessica out for not keeping up with Will, though. Not that she really COULD, but. (Oh, of course Nigel loves the powderpuff hiphop) So, yeah. I love Will, and would totally watch him dance this, but I want to see him do something...ELSE. I don't know what. A Shane routine maybe? Not sure.

Kourtni and Matt (Foxtrot: A Foggy Day/Michael Buble): I keep feeling like I'm watchign movie stars instead of dancers, with these two. Which you'd think would be a good thing. They're so pretty. At least they got good costumes. This may be one of the best foxtrots (choreographed as well as danced) I've seen so far, it's cute and fun, as well as well done. But people don't usually vote for this sort of thing, so they may stil be screwed. Oooh, I really like when Mary has actual ballroom technical critique as opposed to just screaming about the hot tamale train, it reminds me why she's a judge. And then Nigel busts out with a critique about being soft in the arms (and they show a clip, which is helpful) which verges on his stupid "not manly enough" shit, but when they use a clip, you can more see what he's saying and he's right, in this one case.

Courtney and Gev (Contemporary: Lost/Anouk): Meh. I liked the final move, and that was about it, but I don't have much to say about the dancers? Contemporary is one of those ones where sometimes I really really love it, but usually I'm very indifferent. (Oh, god, Mary, stop screaming)

Katee and Joshua (Broadway: All for the Best/Godspell) I love this. Especially I love Joshua. But this is so something I really do expect to see in a musical. Often the "Broadway" isn't necessarily. But this? Yes. And it made me smile. And...I just realized I can't say a thing about the dancing. And I don't care. I hope the judges don't either. Hee. OK, guessing by Nigel's jumping up and down, they don't. YAY! (Except I still hate Katee. Darn it! Why do they keep doing so well?)

Susie and Marquise (Salsa: Aguanile/ Willie Colón and Hector Lavoe) I love the rhythms of salsa. I love watching people salsa. Marquise looks the part of a salsa dancer. I love the move where she does the handstand. But...eh. I feel like that couple who auditioned and did the fun salsa moves? Did better. Also, when they split up and danced next to each other, I felt like Marquise out salsa-ed Susie. And he wasn't much. Though the clip they used to illustrate Mia's critique was very true, he overdid it. And yes, some of it was just that it being her thing, there were high expectations for her for this dance. Kherington and Twitch (Viennese Waltz: A New Day Has Come/Celine Dion) (Why? Why always with the Celine???) Are they dancing this BAREFOOT?? WTF? This is not a very traditional viennese waltz. I kinda like it (I love Twitch), I like the move where he's carrying here and waltzing on his own, but....I'm confused wondering how close to the description the choreographers are required to stay, especially with the ballroom genres. (Also, I LOVE MIA. QUIT SMILING, KHERINGTON! SHUT UP NIGEL!)

Comfort and Chris (Krump: Come and Get Me/Timbaland) Oh dear. I'm frightened at the thought of Chris doing krumping...aaaaaand, having watched it, all I can say is, at least the choreography was such that he didn't look too ridiculous. Comfort was awesome. Chris...managed to not look ridiculous. He wasn't good, of course. I'm not sure anyone could've expected him to be? Aww, and as Mia said, "I think you worked really hard this week". I think probably, as Mary said, it could've been harder, but expect it was toned down to not make it quite so obvious that Comfort could kick his ass.

Yes, but in the first season, the whole thing was structured a bit differently and they pulled partner names out of a hat every week from the very beginning. I liked that because I think weaker dancers sometimes get a free ride when they are paired with someone really popular/good.
