Art Crawl!!!

I know!

And it's interesting that in the show Gordon tells the chefs that they will be executive chef at the new restaurant but the advertising for the show says something else.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

SO glad Jen is gone! She seemed to be a competent cook, although not consistently, but her attitude and ability to work with people needs a lot of work. And I was wondering if Petrozza might turn out to be the winner simply through not making any of the mistakes that others have been making (Christina - don't burn the food OR the chef!)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I was reminded that Petrozza was the individual responsible for the hen in the pumpkin during the first episode.

Wow.

SYTYCD:

Cat’s black dress looks almost sedate 'til you get down to the bottom.

Courtney looked really Lauren-ish during her intro dance with the green nightie and the hair. That is not a compliment.

Thayne looked blazing hot. When did that happen?

Suzie looked like the crazy, slutty big sister on a bad 80's Married with Children knock off, as usual.

Chelsea #1 continued to be a sex bomb.

And Mark calls the eye even in a crowd.

Cat continues to be the adorable-est host ever walking through the Soul Train line!

And our guest judge tonight? Mia! Hello, crazy.

Mia as a white blonde? Hmm. I'm kind of feeling it. And how much do I love that she is hating on dancers already?

Mary looks like a Vegas madam.

Dancers:

Thayne and Chelsea – Thayne is way, way, way over the top. Please take it down. He’s Jim Carrey-esque. But they're very cute together. Mandy Moore! Woooooooo! Well, I thought they killed the choreography, such as there was of it. Did not like the choreo at all. I totally disagree with Mia. The concept was dookie. And the choreography was really too simple. There was nothing to it. Agreed with Nigel that the costumes also were not great. Overall, not great. But I don’t think it was their fault. And I guess I have to retract my "woo" for Mandy Moore. Poorly done. It's the first routine of hers, maybe ever on the show, that I haven't really liked.

Mark and Chelsie – Oh, how I hate Alex Dasilva. He’s just a box of tricks. Mark is so, so pretty. Ok, I loooooovvvved that! That may be my favorite Argentine Tango ever on the show. They were smoking together. So, so sexy. Chelsie has a ridiculous rack, y’all. Ok, back to the dancing. I adored it. Adored it. I have nothing bad to say. Mark getting down into that deep plie in second? Oh my lord! And her legs and feet remain insane. They are by far my favorite couple. Oh, also, props where due to Alex. I still hate him for the most part as a choreographer, but that routine was on point.

And a commercial for ABDC! Ha! Challenge.

Jessica and Will – Y’all, Will is beautiful. Cicely and Olisa make their triumphant return. Please have them on the judges panel again? Mo’ fiyah. Oh, they bring the crazy like few others. OK, who is Nicole sleeping with? Well, the choreo was really fun. And I thought Will smashed it. Jessica makes no impression whatsoever as a dancer. She’s like dance wallpaper. Mia thinks he’s so good that he’s just blowing her off the stage. Well, maybe. But I also just think Jessica's not a very good dancer. And they have absolutely no connection as a couple. He’s tremendous, but I hope the judges ease up on the pimping. That could come back to bite him in the ass.

kat, are you at all bothered by the camera work this season? It is driving me crazy with the swoops and the inappropriate close-ups instead of full body shots that show what they are doing! Can't they just focus on showing us the choreography without getting fancy about it?!

The camerawork is insane. Drunk monkeys could do better. In fact, all the production values are really lacking this season. The lighting has been horrible. The wardrobe is worse than it's ever been. I am not enjoying.

Kourtni and Matt – That was. . .cute. Matt was breathtaking just there at the beginning. His natural cheesiness really worked for him. He’s a beautiful dancer, really. I quite enjoyed him. Kourtni was . . . there. I mean, she was all right, but I really didn’t pay attention to her. There wasn’t a lot of close hold in that dance and what was there wasn’t all that great, so I’m not sure how challenging it really was. Agreed with Mary, it started really strong and then kinda petered out. Thank you for keeping it real. And yes, Nigel, the comp faces and cheesiness have got to go.

Courtney and Gev – These two are so cute. That was amazing. So gorgeous. Courtney was lovely in this dance. Mia’s full of shit. Gev turned it out. For a b-boy, he did an amazing job. I loved that. When she ran up his leg and into that turning lift? It was tremendous. Nigel is also full of shit. Cat called them a pocket couple. Ha! Well, I loved it and I felt emotion from the two of them. Mandy, you’ve somewhat redeemed yourself from the mess you set on Chelsea and Thayne.

information libertarian

I wish you all could have been in my living room watching Dillo, in a diaper, rocking out to the Argentine Tango. He was almost as cute as Wossname-with-a-C and Mark.

I think some of the dances, for the viewing audience, suffer because we're not seeing what we need to see. I loved the tango, but still felt I didn't see enough of it.

ITA about the costumes and lighting, too! It's like they got a new production team who don't know the show and don't know what works.
