We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My friend Tami called me yesterday afternoon to chat and made me promise to tune in to The Sing-off last night, because she just knew I'd love it. She was right! Even the iffier performances were good at some point. I really loved about four or five of the groups, which is an excellent percentage on a show like this one.

I am now watching the Sing Off--I meant to TiVo it last night, and forgot. Yay.

Oh, okay, thanks, le nubian. No wonder I missed it.

Yeah. Some of them just made me smile and smile.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

This year's groups on The Sing Off seem to be of much higher quality than last year's. I remember hating about half of the groups last year, but there wasn't really anyone on Monday that I thought was truly awful. I loved, loved, loved the gospel kids who killed Maroon 5, the old school Oakland dudes, the Nashville group (Streetcorner Symphony?) and the Whiffenpoofs were fun. I didn't care all that much for the Oregon team. They weren't terrible but they kind of felt like a one hit wonder. I'll be interested to see what they do with something that wasn't a YouTube hit for them. I also didn't get what all the fuss was about for the LA supergroup. I thought they were fine, but not all that. Maybe it's just that I never really cared for that song all that much. I'm glad they kept the HS kids on. Even if they were not technically better than the Berklee kids, I enjoyed watching them more. Ben Folds and Shawn are right up there with JC from ABDC as some of the best reality show judges going. I don't really know why Nicole is there. I guess somebody's got to be the Paula.

And speaking of Ms. Abdul, Live to Dance? Can. Not. Wait!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I was glad of it. I'm not sure what happened to her. She was so strong through 80% of her season and then kind of lost it, and doesn't seem to have shaken it off. And going so ballistic defending something that wasn't actually good? Whatev. I'm over her.

Also, a fucking world of whatev to Tiffany trying to argue that she got shafted because she didn't listen to her options and assumed she was being handed a massive win. Fuck that shit.

I think that she was ultimately kicked off because if her palate/taste was so off that she thought that was a good dish, she's not a good chef. Props for the vigorous defense of her dish, but if it sucked, it sucked.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, I'm not sure what happened to Jen - but she never got back what she had in the first half of her season.
