Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]

there is no legitimate excuse

This. They didn't stop to ask for directions until too late, only to discover that they were going the wrong direction. Tony had a map, but didn't seem to be able to find where they were. He even said "I'm seeing what you are seeing" while looking out the window.

My brother lives in north Yorkshire, and with the exception of the tiny country roads around his house, the highways are pretty clearly marked and relatively easy to navigate (roundabouts freak me out though). We drove from Harrogate to Inverness and back and had no trouble.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I also approved the episode because the contestants had an actual "clue" to figure out, challenges that didn't depend much on strength, and so on.

I'm not sure what a good idea that "free pass" was, though at least the team that got it seem to be non-obnoxious.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The main thing I'm liking about the Free Pass is that it's a one-time-only thing, so using it will be based on strategy, especially since it can't be used after the 8th leg.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Is the "Free Pass" like the original "Fast Forward"(i.e., there is one every leg, not just a couple over the whole race) so that most teams have a chance to use it?

Because books.

No, I think the Free Pass was a one-time thing for the one team who won it.

I like the reunited bio mom/daughter team, simply because of the awww factor, and the acapella guys, because they're funny. The LA actors were another favorite, until they bombed. Oh, and the doctors! They're pretty cool.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I had big plans to catch up on TAR last night only to be thwarted by the football delay! I'll have to find time to watch it online.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just watched last weeks Just Desserts and there was so much drama I had to fast forward through large chunks of it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Anyone else watching ANTM? Last week was the makeover with a - SURPRISE! - rejection right afterwards. And the girl who cried all through her haircut and didn't carry off her new look well enough was sent home.

Then they had the girls being "fallen angels" - hanging from a bar in a harness with black costumes and wings ... Tyra's cracked up, right? Not as bad as when she had the girls being "hapa" - weird mash-ups of ethnicities (TWOP referred to it as having the girls in blackface), but she's OTT.

Because books.

We actually watched the whole Chopped Champions season, and the finale was tonight. I cried! It was actually really good, if slightly manipulative of the tears at the end. I was so surprised! It's always been one of those shows we just watch out of habit more than real interest.

Punishingly Intricate

And the girl who cried all through her haircut and didn't carry off her new look well enough was sent home.

And then the girl whose eyebrows she had DYED WHITE to go with her dark brown hair! CRAZY!!!!
