I thought meat pie might have been an interesting way to go, but I don't know if they had the time to get that kind of filling right.
I would have done hand pies, which bake faster, instead of a big pie.

Me too. I was surprised people didn't go this way.

Plus give an opportunity to do something interesting with presentation, I think.
No I want pie. HAND PIES!
What's a hand pie? Like a mini pie or tart?
I'm just looking forward to the crowd thinning. In the beginning there are always too many people to keep track of.
Work of Art: I'm not sure anyone's watching but me, victor, and le nubian (?), but I'm really enjoying it! It was interesting to see how they responded to the challenge of shock art, and I did think Miles's should have gotten more notice -- it was so bold and so immediately recognizable as a statement.
Abdi's was fantastic, though. And I love John, but man, he totally missed the mark. The style was completely wrong. But he admitted at the outset that he was really uncomfortable doing that kind of art.
The girl who won -- Jacquelyn? -- was so out of her element. I think it's a total gimme that she won when she never would have come up with the Sharpies idea unless their mentor had pointed out that she needed to make more of a statement. I agree it worked, but when her whole idea was cam-whore pictures of herself alone? She got lucky.
Mmmm, hand pie.
Damnit, why isn't there a Dub Pies in Manhattan? I want mince & cheese for lunch.

basically. Also a fancy word for a turnover.
I'm watching Work of Art, but haven't seen last night's. I can, however, tell you that Miles is working my nerves.
And now I want pie. Dangerously Delicious Pies just opened a few miles from me. Or I can make my own pie this weekend. I think that I will make a sausage and feta hand pie (italian sausage decased and sauteed with onion and tomato, then mixed with feta and baked in a pie shell). MMMMMMM
Oh, I just remembered there's an empanada place not too far from here! That's hand pie too!

huh, really? He is a nut. Lovable but a nut. I prefer his savory pies, overall, his sweet are too sweet for me.
I'm sorry, Vortex! I forgot you were watching, too.
Miles seems completely genuine in his obliviousness, though. To me, anyway. And what I like about Abdi is that he's just as serious about his art, and making a statement, but he's completely unaffected, not neurotic at all.
Hey, I commented last night! (On WoA).
Yeah, I really liked Abdi's piece.
Why the rush? I mean, next week they're eliminating two Cheftestants and this week two of the artists.
