I'm watching Work of Art, but haven't seen last night's. I can, however, tell you that Miles is working my nerves.
And now I want pie. Dangerously Delicious Pies just opened a few miles from me. Or I can make my own pie this weekend. I think that I will make a sausage and feta hand pie (italian sausage decased and sauteed with onion and tomato, then mixed with feta and baked in a pie shell). MMMMMMM
Oh, I just remembered there's an empanada place not too far from here! That's hand pie too!

huh, really? He is a nut. Lovable but a nut. I prefer his savory pies, overall, his sweet are too sweet for me.

Miles seems completely genuine in his obliviousness, though. To me, anyway. And what I like about Abdi is that he's just as serious about his art, and making a statement, but he's completely unaffected, not neurotic at all.

Also watching WoA (and really liking it). I think Miles is a "character." Every week he makes it hard for producers to kick him off. Does he even have OCD, one wonders. In any case, this really reminds me of PR season 1. It's fun!

I read an article that purported to interview one of Miles' friends, who said that Miles had told them that he was going to create a persona for the show, almost a performance art piece. I can totally see it. Some of his his quirks and actions seem really contrived. Apparently, he does actually have OCD, but not to the level that he plays it on the show.

I will admit to watching with one eye until closer to the end of the show sometimes, but I've bought his persona, if that's what it is, for the most part.
Except for the day he spent reading Frankenstein and then gushing about it. That seemed a bit over the top.
The book cover challenge was my favorite so far, probably because it's the only thing I have experience with, and the judges were pretty dead on with what was going to work and what didn't.

I liked the book cover challenge, although I liked the runner up design better (totally saw what they said about a smaller trickle of blood being a stronger look). I think that that main reason that I wasn't as positive about the winning design is that I didn't like the lettering. The design was cool, but I didn't like that he did the lettering by hand -- badly. The letters were not all the same height or thickness, and it was clear that it was not deliberate. Just the use of a ruler to make character height consistent would have gone a long way for me.
