yeah, but girls/women don't win SYTYCD (and AI either for that matter)
Well, that's not really true. There have been nine seasons, and girls have four times, which is almost even: Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, and Jordin Sparks.
It does *seem* that way since the last three winners have been guys, though.
Oh, wow, thanks for that link. I don't have the bandwidth to watch the videos right now, but I am now eager to be at work on Monday!
OMG, this one made me laugh out loud, and all I know about dance, I learned from SYTYCD. [link]
yeah Amy - it has been long enough that I'm not sure one can win at this point.
Great success in the early years, not so much now. It isn't so much that Jordin did win her year...but this season women didn't even last very long in the competition. Crystal had to be awesome to stick around.
Jordon won her year against the weakest AI top 3 ever prior to this season and also because she was a Disney Channel ready twink just like the tween texters who rule that show (and this one, fwiw). I'll be very surprised if a girl wins AI again. And even moreso if another girl ever wins SYTYCD. Janine won her year because the twinks didn't want to give Brandon the Tiger Beat treatment and he was already a beautiful dancer when he got on the show, so there wasn't the draw of the journey. My money is on Kent for the win right now. If he falters, we just might get our girl winner in Toothy Blonde Cheerleader because the twinks look at her and see themselves.
I think you are using a different definition of twink than I am accustomed to. But I don't disagree, at least as far as AI goes.
Why did Jeanine beat Evan, though? Because Nigel was so hard on his actual dancing?
Because Evan sucked ass in everything except that big Broadway style at which he excelled. I was embarrassed for him in that finale. So far out of his league. It's kind of like how Sabra beat Neil.
This article is bizarre, because she says exactly the OPPOSITE of what I thought, in regards to her favorite bits on the show--she liked the Sweet Charity number, and she thought what'sherface did really well against Anya and Pasha. Er...

...and she thinks contemporary dancers have to work "extra hard" to be loved in this competition. Er...again, what?
I still can't believe this frigging guy won Big Brother. Looks like Adam is copping a plea: [link]
